It is strange. It's federal government you'd think they'd follow one uniformed procedure. Or maybe they think yours will be adjudicated within 6 months.

I don’t want to be in the position that I can’t prove my status. Has everyone had their green card taken as part of the process of getting the stamp.

Exciting days ahead, might want to get a stamp as after the interview you will need to wait for the ceremony and then the certificate etc. Gives you peace of mind and you have prove of residency in case anyone asks you and it says you have to carry your id 24/7, failing that you could ask them to tattoo it on it your body parts, that way you can never lose it!  :)

Yes. The staff there was really relaxed and had a positive energy. And it really felt like they were all for the immigrants. But sadly I don't think they are the ones who process the cases. I couldn't believe it when the woman told us it probably won't be till February 2019 when our ROC will be adjudicated. And she did give me the impression that ROC and N-400 were going to be processed separately.

Clueless, is being generous   That's great that your office is quiet that means they wont have any problem approving your ROC/N400 application very shortly! :)

After vjers from vjVille.  Well how exciting not only are we another day closer to more approvals but we are a WHOLE month closer. Even USCIS can not stop the wheels of time or reverse them!!  Hope there are lots and lots and lots and lots of approval this week! I don't want to hear any excuses from any of you, its your time and your Green Card is winging its way to you all as we speak.  Happy Monday and Happy Approval week! :)

My husband did as it's the law. Nobody has ever stopped him and asked to see it. Now that he has his stamp now he has to carry his passport. Or rather I carry it for him since I'm a woman with a purse or if he's going to work he will keep it in the small compartment of his backpack and only take it out if he's asked to show proof of legal status. If in the 1% chance you're stopped and don't have it on your person it is a misdemeanor on your record.

In 90% + areas of the USA, the chances anyone will ever be asked to prove their residence status is zero.

 

Only a concern for those living or visiting in hot spots along the borders of USA and at major international  airport cities.

 

Probably should add the  new category of sanctuary cities and states to this list.

December 8, 2018 received notice on USCIS that Biometrics scheduled . . . but the actual date was not yet shown.

December 11, 2018 saw in 'Documents' section of USCIS that Bio scheduled for 24 December 2018.

December 21, 2018 saw on USCIS website that they will be closed 24 December 2018 as extra holiday.

January 9, 2019 went for re-scheduled BIO appointment.  33 days after N-400 submitted on-line.

February 19, 2019 received letter in US mail that Citizenship interview scheduled for 26 March 2019. 74 days after submission on-line.

March 26, 2019 Citizenship interview scheduled for.  109 days after N-400 submitted on-line.

March 26, 2019 Passed Citizenship interview.

April 12, 2019  Received notice that Oath Ceremony had been scheduled for 24 April 2019.  17 days after interview.

April 24, 2019  Oath Ceremony completed.  29 days after interview.     139 days after N-400 submitted on-line.

April 25, 2019  USA Passport Application submitted.

May 3, 2019     USA Passport received.    149 days after N-400 submitted on-line.
