Unfortunately, I would say it didn't correlate, it was just your time. Had this happened a month before or a month later then I would say perhaps.

Any update on the letter?

So... that was RFE :) thanks god i do have the document they are requesting at home so i will mail it out tomorrow

i have 2 questions though

do they approve cases shortly after they receive RFE responses?

and do  have to include any letter from my end?

RFE just says to include the notice in my response

They often approve cases soon after they receive response to RFE. May we know what they requested for, please?

Hi guys, i am late september 2017 filer, we had an interview on the 15th of march at chicago centre, the interview went very well, very few questions asked, and officer was very friendly, we have no idea why we were called for the interview because we filed all the proof possible with the original roc. The officer did not approve on the spot and never mentioned how long it will take to recieve a decision but she did say it will be sent in the mail whether it's an approval, denial or rfe, also from the moment we stepped inside her office she kept repeating that even if she gives the approval today i won't get the card soon because they were upgrading to a new system which is not ready now and as soon as it comes up she will. But it's been a while and i read somewhere else that about 70% or more of interviews result in same day approvals. and i also seen on line lots of approvals issued on that day although not for roc but mostly i485 applications.which made me think the system was just fine if the officer wanted to complete the adjudication of our case.september 2017 filers are so quite so i thought no body can help me better than you guys since you are so active, please help . Does any one have any interview experience? Or knows anyone that has. The wait is killing me

RFE just says to include the notice in my response

Normally 2 to 3 weeks, might even be sooner. There is no need to put a cover letter in if it says to include the notice, but personally I would put a quick note if it was me, just saying here is the information you requested.

They have to interview a certain percentage, so it might be that, it might have been a red flag of such thing as an age difference or not enough evidence, could be a whole host of different reasons.  She might be correct with the computer system they have been doing an awful lot of updating recently. As for the card, well I was approved on Feb 20th and didnt receive my card for nearly four weeks, so it probably wont be quick like she said.  I would imagine you will hear in the next week or so,  you will receive your letter,  followed by your card but I don't know how long the wait for the card will be.  I also imagine its not a denial, I think you would have picked up on that at the interview and as you said the interview went very well. Had they had suspicion about your case for any reason, they would have split you up if married and done a Stokes Interview, which I hear is very intense and quite scary.

Unfortunately, its not all, sometimes its determined on either security checks or backlogs at field offices. Not sure of yours and how long the waiting times are.

Thank you so much thats very helpfull. The interview went very well and we were wondering why we were called for it to begin with. She didn't ask many questions and we had tons of updated proofs with us since we filed in september which she didn't even ask for and just kept some new bills and bank statements.  Only One year age difference between us and i don't think there's any red flags at all. We both from the same country originally and been married for a long time, i was adjusting status when we filed the original application as i over stayed my visa and it took 2 years to get the 2 year card a full year after the interview. I hope we will get the approval soon as every aspect of our lives depends on that. From buying a house to travel and vacations. It's really amazing how little they care about us
