I'm sure everyone here has heard about the social media stuff being required for visa applicants. I know it's not passed yet. But will this effect immigrants who are already here like people here in ROC pending?

Hello to all! 

Sorry I haven't been too active here lately, things are going a bit too crazy here on my end...hope you all are doing well.

So, like others, I also filed the case inquiry regarding the ghost notice we should have gotten on the 28th. 

Kudos,  @Haji delco, nice move on the "approval" inquiry!! I wish I had seen your post earlier, lol!

Instead, I marked the "other" option and wrote a little note saying "last movement on my case was Feb 26th 2018, and per their instructions, I should contact them if I didn't hear back by March 28th. Thank you."

And now I wait again...i know what the answer will be, though it doesn't hurt to try anyway, right? 

I really need this to be over, as much as i try my best to keep positive, the mental stress is starting to affect my health and my family...

Oh well, I wish you all my dearest VJville family a wonderful Friday! Cheers

Thanks @JReed yes the mental side of this whole process is a nightmare. It will be well for al of us very soon.

 

For the bolded, I appreciate. Well I just thought I would take the bull by the horn as I had nothing to lose. So I figured inquiring about "Approval notice" will get them wondering lol. I am not sure if that is correlated to me getting the interview scheduled in any way.

And a Happy Easter to all who celebrate that.  Glad you did a case inquiry, it's a start for us to say we aren't happy. Hopefully, next everyone who hasn't heard will lobby their Senators.  Just shaking my head wondering why the bosses at USCIS feel its alright to do this, when its actually peoples health, well being and subsequently their families too.

Unfortunately, I would say it didn't correlate, it was just your time. Had this happened a month before or a month later then I would say perhaps.

Probably VSC sent me a letter notifying me case was transferred to local office

I actually contacted my senator (RIchard Durbin) here in Illinois and what I got was a response from the Congressional liaison in CSC saying that the processing times are long and that you are authorized to stay and work in the United States.

I am glad you did!!! However it needs the masses to do so before they actually sit up and take notice. 

Again shaking my head, do they want to tell that to employers that don't understand the documentation or extended letter, do they want to tell the DMV that too, when you're letter is about to expire in a few weeks and its not acceptable, they need a stamp. 

 

Did the congressional liason officer at CSC also say that they only do info passes two weeks ahead and some people find it nearly impossible to book one, not too mention some field offices are so far away that people have to take vacation days off to go there, like my husband for one. So then when we want a proper family vacation/holiday we can't as there is no vacation time left with office visits and biometrics. 

 

I feel you were fobbed off and that USCIS are showing little or no regard for their petitioners, beneficiaries, customers which every they want to call us nowadays. It just makes me sad.  Hopefully one day a Senator will listen and take it seriously, ask for an inquiry, so the more we stick together and the more people that contact their senators the better.  Off my podium now. Sorry for ranting, but they infuriate and exasperate me.

Guys I'm not sure if you have any concrete info on this. Can an interview be scheduled if security checks are still pending?
