Something I have never understood... why tell a dead person to RIP?  I mean, being dead is the ultimate rest.  And I cannot think of anything more peaceful.  Guess it's just a kind sentiment, especially for someone you don't know well enough to speak about.

Lamb is not a "typical democrat", and I don't think his win is that huge of a deal. He is fairly conservative on many issues. I don't think that kind of election is going to come up in that many places later in the year, though I can't claim I'm well versed in the open positions and who is running.

 

If all the democrats care about is the colour on a map then sure it's exciting that he won, but based on how he campaigned he doesn't appear to be someone who will always be relied on to vote with his party. Unless his actions differ drastically from his words (which of course can happen, as it always does).

I completely agree.  I have heard that he ran adds shooting the awful AR15 assault weapon.  I think if I lived in Pennsylvania 18, I probably would have voted for him.  If the DNC runs candidates like him across the country they might actually have a chance in fairly conservative districts.

Caught part of Mark Levin's radio show yestereve.  He observed that if the Repub had been the Dem and the Dem the Repub, the same winning individual would have won.
