I should have known better and had hoped to have everything to send to my fiancee but have run into bank/work document problems which should be sorted out by Friday.

She leaves for Manila on Monday,  I'm hoping to get the documents out by this Friday the 16th.  That only gives me 10 business days.

I've read older posts and some say  DHL, some say FedX, some say USPS.

She lives one the West side of Cebu, in Balamban, Cebu, about an hour's drive West of Cebu City, but she could come to Cebu City to pick-up a packet.

What do you, who are in the know, recommend?  Price is important but not as important as getting the docs there on time.

Thank you.

We ship our docs last year through DHL its kinda pricey yet it’s more reliable and faster. It arrived one day earlier than the expected delivery day.

Thank you, how many days did it take from the day you sent it until received. And was the recipient in a city, or out in the Provinces?

Where do you live again? If not close to a LBC then I would recommend DHL and for her to pick it up in Cebu City. The only sure way for physical documents to get to her.  Why not just email them to her so that she can print them out?

Since I’m working at Manila, i received it for 3days only. She can pick up your docs in DHL branch in Cebu near to her area, so she will receive it on time.

Thanks, I appreciate the responses...There can be a world of difference in the time it takes either DHL or FedX between Manila and Cebu City, and Balamban.

It's not really "near" it's pretty much an all-day trip.  Any suggestions as how many days it will take.  Anyone here with actual experience in Cebu, especially hours away from Cebu, who have had actual experiences and can relate the number of days?

Never seen USPS being a good idea with the Philippines .. as that is PhilPost (yikes!)

Always UPS, FEDEX, DHL, LBC     I used FedEx just the other day, it took 3 days using Priority delivery, this was metro Manila.  You can over night if you are feeling rich. ;)

Bank/work problems? Bank statements or employer letter (unless you are a new employee) for the interview?  Only need -    ITR, W2 (can be emailed and printed out there) and signed I-134 (original signature)

If anyone says that USPS to the Philippines is a good idea then they need to be kicked in the head because they obviously don't know what they're talking about. It's a good idea up until it reaches Manila and then it gets handed over to Philpost, or what we like to call here "The black hole". We say that because your package may get there with no problem maybe a month later, your package may get there on time with stuff missing from it, or it may not get there at all.

Fed Ex or DHL is the best way I have seen to any parts of Philippines, Never send USPS it can take 3 months or longer to arrive.

I don't know what you are shipping paperwork wise, it may be best to just scan it and have her print it off there.  I can't think of bank or work document that needed presented or that just couldn't be printed off a email.

I had PNP do a background check and investigation years ago on girl and her family in Davao City,  they sent me paperwork via post office. It took over 3 months for the paperwork to finally arrive to my US residence.

When I was working in Afghanistan a friend of mine had me buy a watch on Amazon and ship it to her SIL in Korondal in South Cotabato. It was shipped via USPS and I was able to track it up until Manila where it switched off to Philpost, and then I was only able to track it to the post office in Korondal because I called the USPS and was like "Where is my frigging package" and they got ahold of Philpost. Philpost said it was at the post office there in Korondal, but my friend's SIL went there numerous times of course "It's not here and we haven't seen it". She finally ended up getting it a month later I guess only because we kept pestering them about it, only after I had order another watch and it was in Kandahar with me about to be shipped thru DHL to Korondal. At that time the guys at DHL in Kandahar all knew me by name due to work purposes and me sending stuff to Davao. Those Filipinos were making bank to, my friend was making $2500 a month working at DHL.

That's what I said it would be easier just to email it to her for them to print off there.

I Fed Ex at Fujitsu laptop to Davao about 10 years ago, it was a few years old and I declared the value of it to be $100.  Once it arrived they wanted another $300 for custom and duty.  I reluctantly paid it, that was the first and last time I ever sent something of value via a courier.  I have packed brand new laptops and even desktops inside balikbayan boxes and never had an issue.
