Good luck, but the CO will hardly give you any time to explain in detail what you mentioned above. They ask few questions and expect answers in just a few words or a short sentence and decide. Very slim chances of getting the visa this time too but who knows.

That's a good point and he could. Just that he will not be coming to India but will first go to France and things are a bit unclear. Also, when I got robbed, I even lost my SSN number and I haven't been able to cancel it online, since my phone was stolen too and my address is also not the same. It seems it is impossible to cancel it and the person who stole it could use it if indeed mine was an identity theft case. I had put 6 months alert on the card and would want to inform the office about the theft also so there is no fraud possibility in my name.

Since I have vacation possibility, I like to travel and meet my friends, that is basically the main reason for the trip.

This is all starting to sound rather complicated.

Who is looking after your stuff at the moment? It's obviously not a huge amount if you can bring it back with you on the plane after a holiday. Why don't you get it boxed up and sent parcel post, might even end up cheaper than your ticket plus any excess baggage you may have to pay for it.

Sure, Thank you guys..

Any specific documents you would suggest that I should keep for my particular case?

Generally the best documents are (1) proof of property ownership (2) a letter from your employer stating your position, salary, how long you've worked for them, that you're taking vacation and will return after. Not sure you can do either of these from what you've said?

if I may say: you're pinning a  lot on a "narrative" that may not even happen. You've been to a visa interview before, you know how it goes -they ask a question, you answer. IF they ask anything - sometimes they don't. You don't get given a chance to make a speech or a pitch, and it looks suspicious if you launch into one unasked.

It's in my boyfriend's storage but since he will be moving out, it will be a problem now. Also I want to travel and visit friends also. I waited until now because I didn't think it will be this complicated to get travel visa.

I thought pf taking care of my stuff whenever I visit next, it's been more than a year since I left.

Nothing overly complicated about getting a travel visa. Having applied before, you'd surely be familiar with the process.

Beats me why you'd need a US bank account/stuff in storage if you have no intention of ever living in the US.

Interesting to see what all can come up as an option. I have kept my USA bank accounts, because I travel a lot and using USA travel credit card is very handy internationally compared to Indian credit card.

Regarding my stuff, when I first left I didn't know if I plan to get back or not. While traveling I got robbed and lost documents to get back and take care of my stuff. However, I don't plan to go live there but I didn't leave thinking I won't get a chance to get back and at least take care of my things. I had great difficulty in selling my car from distance but was able to do it with the help of my boyfriend.

Reckon it's cheaper to sell stuff than cost of storage. But with a soon to be USC boyfriend, moving to the US an option down the road.

Odd for him to seek US citizenship if either of you have no intention of living in the US

He has free storage at his parent's house and we don't intend to live in USA. I just want to be able to visit. We want to live either in India or France (he is French)

Presumably India judging by your previous posts about the strong ties to India you now have? getting into business, etc?
