Hello all,

I have a few questions regarding my (re-) application for USA tourist visa. My visa was denied a month ago and now I am preparing new application.

1. I want to change my narrative to make my application more acceptable since previous narrative got me rejection. My question is that "would there be a record of my previous narrative in the system"? I am not going to lie for anything, just gonna change the purpose and narrative.

2. I have a bank account in USA because I worked and live there for 5 years, and I want to use the same bank account for my expenses while I am in USA. Would showing that bank account statement as a proof of finances act against me for my visa approval?

3. I moved back to India and am currently working with a small hospitality business and I get paid in cash there don't have any pay slips to show as a proof. However, I have employment certificate from the owner of the business. What should I response to the officer if he/she asks for a proof of salary?

Thank you so much in advance for the responses.

Have a good day,

Nish

honestly unless your situation has drastically changed from the last time you applied and the fact you are trying yo reapply so fast will be a red flag that you are desperate to get back to USA, and having a bank account already in the USA is another red flag.

Yes. Your previous visit was recorded. And it will be somewhat suspicious if month later you're going to go to another interview with a completely different story.

Hmmm... what they said, plus, telling the CO you have money in the US but you can’t show him proof of income could be a red flag too - whether you have a better incentive to be in the US, that you are prepared to work “under the counter”, or both.

Hello All,

Thank you for your responses, I actually mentioned about my boyfriend who lives in USA. I wanted to mention him as my friend and tell them that I am going to Houston to meet with some of my friends and travel to Austin and camp in a national park. I would return in 15 days and join my work, in last interview I mentioned that I have freelance work, but this time I will elaborate on it and since its full time, I will show them the letter from employer if they ask.

My narrative will be that I left my career in USA to get into hospitality from Science background. My plan to to have a business in near future in India but right now just learning from other businesses. I want to go to USA to bring back some of my things that are still there (not planning to mention them this time) and travel around Texas since this is a low season for the work I do and I am able to get off from work.

I need not show the USA bank statement, I also have an Indian bank account, can show that. How much amount should I need to show for 15 days vacation with tickets and insurance already brought? Should it be more than what I will spend or equal to?

Thanks again.. best wishes,

Nish

Well good luck but imo you have less than 10% chance for that visa. You should wait at least few more months before applying again.

So all of your information from the last interview is going to show one thing while the next interview a couple of months later is going to show things completely different.

The CO is going to notice this and this will be an even bigger red flag.

I agree that you likely will not  get the visa. Changing things around on the application is the biggest red flag a person can have.

So many red flags, can't see you getting a visa any time soon.

You should always be honest instead of trying to bend the truth like you seem to be implying.

Agree with both above posts.

The last time I applied for a tourist visa the interviewing officer referred to answers I'd given at a visa interview ten years earlier!

Notes were made from every answer you gave from your previous application. If these answers now change within weeks or months since your interview then it will look like you're just trying to tell them what they want to hear in order to get the visa.

August 2000: We start e-mailing. I'm in Bosnia, she's in Florida

October 29th 2000: She sends me e-mail asking if I would marry her

October 29th 2000(5 seconds later): I say yes

November 2000: She sends me tickets to Orlando for when I get back

December 6th 2000: Return from Bos

December 11th 2000: Fly to Orlando, she meets me at airport

December 22nd 2000: I fly back to UK

January 3rd 2001: She flies to UK (Good times)

Mid February 2001: Pregnancy test Positive

Mid February 2001: She flies back to US

March 2001: Miscarriage, I fly to US on first flight I can get

May 2001: I leave US before my 90 days are up

June 2001: I fly back to US, stopped at airport for questioning as I had only just left

September 2001: Pregnancy test Positive again

September 2001: She falls sick, I make decision to stay to look after her as I am afraid I may have problems getting back in.

April 16th 2002: Our son is born, we start getting stuff together for his passport

March 6th 2003: We leave US for UK as family

Early April 2003: Family troubles make her return to US, I ask Embassy in London about possibilities of returning to US

April 16th 2003: London Embassy informs me that I will be banned from the Visa Waiver Program for 10 years, my little boys first birthday

June 13th 2006: I-129f sent

August 11th 2006: NOA1 Recieved

After our relationship breaks down she admits to me that she had never bothered to start the application process

Thank you everyone for the responses. As I already have a date now, I will go for the interview and say everything truth. I didn't mean to lie as my intention is really not to stay. My boyfriend is currently in USA but he plans to leave USA once he gets his citizenship (in a few weeks). I want to go there because I still have some of my stuff there and want to get it back, plus want to use my vacation to travel and meet my friends.

It's just that my situation is so complex, I quit my job to leave USA and have no intention to move there. I want to stay here with my family and get into business because I felt stuck in 9 to 5 job in USA. I don't know what is the best way to convince the officer. I do miss my friends and life there and thats why I want to be able to visit once in a while.

I got rejection 2 months back so I will be appearing for the visa interview after a gap of 2 months.

Could you Boyfriend bring your stuff with him when he leaves?

That's a good point and he could. Just that he will not be coming to India but will first go to France and things are a bit unclear. Also, when I got robbed, I even lost my SSN number and I haven't been able to cancel it online, since my phone was stolen too and my address is also not the same. It seems it is impossible to cancel it and the person who stole it could use it if indeed mine was an identity theft case. I had put 6 months alert on the card and would want to inform the office about the theft also so there is no fraud possibility in my name.

Since I have vacation possibility, I like to travel and meet my friends, that is basically the main reason for the trip.
