My wife has has her interview very soon. I am having a joint sponser for form I864 since I don't meet the income requirements. My sponsor sent us the scanned copy of form I864 and 2 years of tax return. He didn't include any W2s. Is that enough or do we need more documents?

I talked to NVC and if its the tax transcripts you will not need W2 however if it is just the regular tax return that was printed off from Turbotax, or HR block, you will need to have those W2.

What I mean is does the joint sponser need to attach proof of his citizenship.

so basically all the documents I need from him is just the signed form I864, tax returns, and and his W2? Nothing else from Him.

yes u need the copy of sponsor's passport, naturalization or citizenship card it is required. regarding other documents u just need to read instructions of form I-864. According to my understanding In case of employed person if u r using IRS transcripts then its not required w'2, job letter etc. but if u r using Federal Income Tax return then it should be included. and if the case is that the person is self employed then u hv to attach other tax forms like Schedule C etc.
