Interview Process

So, the fiance visa is being sent to the Jamaican Embassy soon (this week I believe!) and I have some questions on the process. From my understanding, my fiance will get a letter from the embassy requesting more paperwork before he schedules his interview? If so, what paperwork? And then how long till he gets his interview? Then if all goes well how long till he gets the visa? 

 

Any advice or knowledge from past experience will be greatly appreciated! Want to get this right.

I am here with you. I can share little what I know. First he will have to fill out the DS160. It has to be submitted from a Jamaican computer. So you could fill it out till the submit button if you wanted. But will want to wait till they are ready. I found out yesterday we were "ready" but am still unable to schedule an interview. I am not sure, but giving it a couple days since we have not received the package yet from them. I was told it come by email to the email on the k1 visa form. You need to register and then sign up for an interview and pay the fee. Then schedule a medical which needs to be 10 days before your interview date. 

Here is a link to instructions from the embassy I found. It explains the medical and other things needed for the interview like police record.

Great thank you this is helpful! How long did it take for you to find out you were "ready" once the visa was sent to Kingston? Also, how did you find out?

We are stuck at the ready phase. it won't let us schedule the interview so I am trying to figure that out. That is when you interview and stuff. After the interview it just depends on the visa. they give you tracking via dhl. Really you just need to search on this site and find stuff.
