My daughter just had her I-129F approved for her Fiance who is an Indian citizen. We waited 9 whole months! We hope that perhaps he can start to prepare some of the documents for his visa interview now, to save time. We were informed he may not get the packet from the consulate for up to a month. We know there is a required medical, but nothing else. Has anyone recently gone thru a visa interview in Delhi? What was on the checklist? Also, would it be best for my daughter to fly to Delhi to attend the interview with him? She would have to bring their 2 month old son with her, which worries me due to the 16 hour flight. Can he still hope for approval if he attends the interview alone? Thanks for any help!

- Only the Mumbai embassy processes K1 visas now.

- After the I129f is approved, the case gets transferred to the NVC (you can call them to check) and then the NVC transfers it to the embassy (when you call the NVC, if they give you a case number, it means the case is at or on the way to the embassy).

- Packet 4 looks something like this: https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Supplemental/NWD - New Delhi.pdf   , except for the K1 visa, you fill out a DS-160, not a DS-260. You can fill out the DS-160 and schedule an appointment, as soon as you get the case number from the NVC.

- Most K1 applicants do the interview without the American fiance. It would probably help but it not compulsory. I will be attending my interview without my fiance. We have a lots of evidence of the legitimacy of our relationship.
