Filed Form I-129 with Incorrect FIling Fees

Hi All, I recently filed a Form i-129 ($460) to request a change of visa status from F1 to E3 (Work Visa for Australians). I submitted incorrect filing fees of $1685, because I added a request for premium processing (which I have discovered is unavailable to E-3 Visas).

My employment starts in July, that’s why I wanted to apply for premium processing. Now that I know Premium Processing is unavailable, my application process is delayed?

1.     How long does it take for USCIS to mail back my original application so I can take action and submit the right fees? (I’m in California, the USCIS center that takes my application is in Vermont)

2.     Should I resubmit my application and file the same forms to USCIS with the correct filing fees or should I wait for the receipt notice then act?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
