I'm US citizen and my husband had his interview on January 25th, 2018 in Ciudad Juarez. He, unfortunately, walked out with a 221g blue slip asking for more document. They wanted certified court papers for a misdemeanor (petty offense) he had in 2004 the consulate wanted to see the final outcome of the case. The thing is our lawyer had put it in our packet but the consulate missed it. We had the certified copy but since my husband had set foot outside the consulate he wasn't allowed back it. My question is how long does this take. Has anyone been in a similar situation? We send out the certified copy that same day through DHL and SHL confirmed they had delivered on 02-26-2018, however, when we called the consulate hotline they didn't receive any confirmation stating they had, not until 03-02-2018.  Now the consulate is just saying we have to wait until the office makes his/her decision and a tracking number will be sent via email.  Please help enlighted my situation.

Sometimes, consulates misplace documents.  It's great that you immediately complied with the 221g.   I wouldn't think there will be a significant delay. Hopefully, the administrative processing time will be short....good luck.

My wife (another country and consulate) also received a 221g for a missing document.  2 days later, the status changed to "issued".

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Thank you. I really do hope it resolves fast. I'm here at home with my 3 kids and one income. It's not fun.
