Hi All,

My husband and I received an RFE requesting our marriage certificate. Our attorney notified us that the request was submitted to the USCIS on February 18, 2018. I was wondering if anyone has an idea of how long it will take before we receive a response? What have your experiences been with receiving an RFE?

We are currently in our 10th month since filing for the marriage visa.

Thank you!

My wife and I received a RFE too. From the date that we sent it took 2 weeks for the appoval.

That’s encouraging! We actually submitted it February 28* not the 18th. Hopefully we hear something within a week or so!

I think you will be approve soon after the USCIS receives the requested evidence. When I was petition for my wife we got The same RFE request for marriage certificate We sent in the local copy instead of the PSA  copy from the Philippines. I know Canada and the Philippines are different countries and I am not sure if there is a national registry in Canada for marriage  but that is what they are probably requesting  . Any way my wife petition was approve in about a couple of weeks after we sent in the right  Marriage certificate

6 weeks at the NVC? I hate to disappoint you but I think it will be longer. My wife case took 3 months and I research and use every shortcut that I could but I just do not see how it can be just 6 weeks  It Usually takes NVC about a week to 2 to receive your case then another 30 + days for them to enter it into their system and assign you a case  and invoice number. I know you mention an attorney but if I was you I will still call the NVC in a couple of weeks to see if the NVC has your case yet ask them if they assign you a case number It is probably too early if not maybe wait a couple of weeks. The reason why is once you have the numbers you can proceed with the other steps Of the NVC process paying the fees and sending in the documents and the financial requirements.  that takes NVC another 30 days to review the documents after they receive them.

I guess I misinterpreted the info we received. It’s 6 weeks for the NVC to BEGIN professing 🙄 All this waiting is so taxing. It feels like we just jumped over a huge hurdle, and now we have so much more to go. I’m trying to stay positive because we’ve accomplished a lot already! It can just be discouraging to have more waiting. Anyway...thanks for letting me rant a bit lol, and for your response!

Thank you!

It's 4months today since our response to RFE was received at Texas Service Centre
