Dear Folks!

I have a doubt in respect a document I will submit with the I-751 petition.... We will send a copy of the residential agreement letter in my husband' s name dated on August 2001( this document is the kind of one which has automatic renovation, unless the tenant or landlord would like to quit with the contract). I came to US in 2005, so we will be sending an Amendment to residential letter as well. My doubt is should we notarize the amendment or not? Thanks in advance for your reply.

Regards,

Coolmind.

My wife had her biometrics done on May 12th. Found out that the ACS (Application support center) in houston is open from Tuesday to Saturday. It went smooth and we were out of there in 1/2 hour.

I'm so glad I saw this post.

We filed my I-751 at the end of April (USPS receipt says they received it on the 25th).

They have not cashed our check yet.

I have not received a receipt.

I am starting to panic. Everyone else seems to have had their checks cashed ASAP.... I need that receipt since I am planning to fly back to the UK in July for a wedding where I'm in the bridal party!

Why, oh why is this process so difficult?!?!?

Anyone else have such a long wait between filing and check cashing/receipt?

Did you file it in the TSC or some other service center? (It would allow others to be more helpful to you if you put in some of this kind of basic info in your profile.) If not, I've heard that one or two of the other service centers (VSC?) takes their sweet time cashing checks.

That's not necessary. The document speaks for itself, as they say. The only thing that would ever be notarized as part of an I-751 submission would be an affidavit one might send in.

I filed to the VSC. Having read some posts on here since I wrote the above, it seems like it is taking Vermont up to a month to cash the check, so I'll just sit quietly until then.

I finally rec'd my NOA1 today.....yayyyyyyy :dance::dance:

One thing I'm curious about is the last paragraph that states if you haven't sent the following documents to TSC to please do so in order to help the processing of your petition (i'm paraphrasing)

Lease of joint tenancy

Joint mortgage deed

etc etc

Is this statement on everyones NOA1? I didnt include a joint mortgage document with our petition since our home is only in my name so I hope that wont be a delay or a problem. Any comments?

Well anyways I am now waiting on the biometric appt, I hope it doesnt take long.

Glad to hear it, Angel! I don't recall seeing anything like that on our NOA1, but I'm not 100% sure -- I'd have to look. We did, however, send a copy of the deed to our house with both of our names on it. What else is on your NOA1 (the part that you describe as "etc")?

I don't think a deed or joint mortgage should be required -- after all, if my wife and I hadn't moved last year, we'd still be living in a place where I was the only one on the mortgage and deed.

You could have the deed conveyed from you to you and your husband jointly, and then send it in to the TSC to forestall a possible RFE. That's a fairly simple process, but you'd have to get a real estate attorney to help you.

It strikes me as wrong, though, that filing an I-751 should compel to do things you wouldn't normally do or wouldn't yet do, such as getting a joint deed or a joint bank account.

Hi,

The other documents listed as documents to be sent are:

Lease of joint tenancy

Joint mortgage or joint title deed (I'm the only one on this since i purchased our home before my hubby entered US, so I didnt include this)

Tax returns (I sent jointly filed taxes for tax yrs 2005 and 2006 in petition---we didnt marry til 05, why list them on NOA1)

joint bank accounts (I included these in our petition as well)

Medical (I included letter from my health insurance showing my husband added as a dependent as well as copy of health insurance card)

Insurance policy (I believe this on on the NOA1 as well, but I did included it as well showing hubby as beneficiary)

This is all I can remember off hand since I dont have the NOA1 in front of me. Please check your NOA1 to see if this is on there. By the way now that I think of it, it does say "If you havent sent these documents with your petition"

It might have asked for these things (I'll check), but given that last language you quoted, I probably ignored it if it did because we sent pretty much all of those things except for the joint bank account (don't have one) and the insurance policy with my wife as the beneficiary (have one, but didn't include it b/c I had to write away to get the beneficiary sheet).

I really wouldn't worry. The worst thing that will happen -- and the odds are huge that it won't happen -- is that they will call you in for an interview. They've really got to have something concrete showing the marriage isn't legitimate to deny the petition. In short, legit marriage = no worries.

I think you can ignore this, I just received my NOA and they asked for the same documents. The important line and you paraphrased it above is

" If you have not already done so, provide supporting documents...."

We received the biometrics appointment today and we are happy to have received only problem is that the appt is scheduled for next week  , i thought they scheduled appts with more than notice. I know we can reschedule my husband's appt but I dont want to have the processing of our petition delayed by doing that.

Oh well next problem is we have to get up at 2 am in order to catch the bus to get to the appt on time. Last problem is getting his boss to give him time off, shes a really tickler with given certain ppl time off. We are requesting 2 days off (day of appt and day after) there will be no way my husband will be able to work getting up at 2 am next week to get to the appt and getting back to the bus station in our city at 6:30 pm and have to be up for work by 3:30 am the next day. A good reason to get some well deserved rest with the long weekend coming up.

My husband broke/fractured his right pinky finger , will that be any problem when it comes to fingerprinting? Should we get a letter from the doctor stating the condition of his finger (especially since his finger is in a splint and bandage)? Anyway, I am hoping 2.5 hrs will be enough time to have his photo and fingerprinting done.

What service center did you send to??? If you sent to vermont...dont' panic.

there is actually a whole separate blog section of thos of us(myself included) that sent I-751 to vermont in april. it seemed they are taking a month or so to cash checks or 45 days to get NOA out. One blogger noted that he called INS after 4 weeks of hearing nothing and they said that california and vermont are slowing down and to please give them 45 days to get things out.

me and my husband are traveling to england in july as well. we sent ours out the 25th of April and it was recieved the 27th...still no check cashed. If i don't have that letter by the middle of june i'm making an info pass appt to get his passport stamped with 551 stamp. and i'm also calling on the 30 day mark as well.

hope that this helped a bit.

:)

Yep, I checked and it says the same thing. No biggie b/c we have already sent these things. Or most of them, b/c we don't have a joint bank account and I didn't have anything handy showing that my wife is the beneficiary on my life insurance. So on the chance we get RFE'd, I can send them something from the life insurance and also get a joint bank account and send them something showing that.
