I sent the I-751 to the TSC on April 13, 2007 and the check was cashed on April 23, 2007. On the back of the cancelled check I can see a case number of SRC0718200055. We have not received any NOA yet and when I try to put that case number in the USCIS online lookup, it comes back as not found. I am getting a little worried about it and thinking I may make an Infopass appointment in San Antonio to see what's going on.

The same for me, the application number they wrote on the back of my check is different than the one in the NOA1. I kept getting "not found" error message when checking the application number written at the back of the check. Don't worry, wait for a week or two, I am sure you'll get your NOA1. :)

Yeah, they put these faux case numbers on the back of the check and the biometrics receipt, but the only real one is the NOA1. I'd bet your NOA1, like Angel's, was in the next batch going out and you'll probably get it today or tomorrow. I wouldn't even think about doing an InfoPass until at least a few more days have gone by.

What's funny about these NOA1s is that they are so important, and you know they are supposed to send you one just by the simple fact of you having sent in the petition and the fee, but that you start thinking all kinds of wacky things, e.g., it went to a neighbor who tossed it out, or you tossed it out because it was stuck in a supermarket flyer, or it got stuck to the bottom of someone's shoe in the post office and ended up on the floor of the dead letter office, etc.

Meh

Hmm, sorry to hear that. But no, I wouldn't call them. I believe they'd just tell you that you'd have to wait 30 or however many days, or something like that.

Anyway, remember that your check was cashed three business days after mine, so you are at least three business days behind me. Today is only the third business day since I received the NOA1. Mail tends to get to me quickly since I live in a major metropolitan area. You could just be another day or two behind because of that.

No, and I don't expect there will be until the biometrics get done.

As to your situation and how it has differed from mine since receiving the biometrics receipt, I can only speculate -- which along with a metro card will get you on the subway. Unfortunately, all you can do, I think, is sit tight and wait. Again, I believe that if you call USCIS, they will simply tell you that one has to wait X number of days and won't tell you anything specific about your individual case. But why not, give 'em a call . . . .

Hello Folks!

First of all its a relief to have a place like this where you can come and understand the immigration process in a better way ,with the human touch of those who have been here passing through the same situation. Good Luck to everybody! Thanks for this very helpful website! :)

Iam a May I-751 filer, since my 90 days window had opened on May 10th, 2007. I have everything prepared ( at least I think so ;) ) in order to submit the petition to TSC. I don' t know how to explain what I feel about it. I have joined the most I can to submit this thing and I always feel I can find more documents. Is this anxiety a normal part of the whole process? On the bottom, I suppose it is... ;) Probably the relief will come when I get the Noa, it is not? :)

Please, could you take a look at our evidences? We still do not have kids. We appreciate all comments! Thanks in advance guys!

Hello Coolmind and welcome to VJ!

As for your list of evidence, the following things came to mind when reading your list:

Regarding point....

8) don't send each months statement. Make a selection covering the whole period, e.g. every 3 to 4 months. I don't know how others have done this, but I only provided 3 statements covering the whole 2 years.

9) if this is one of these "pre-approved" credit card offers, don't send it, what does it proof?

10)-13) these seem all to be about your health insurance - if you find other, better evidence and your package becomes too bulky, you might want to consider cutting down in this section

14) what is this? what will it proof?

17) what about the current 2006 tax return? don't forget to include it as well.

Anyway, things you might consider including as well are:

- copy of both your and your spouse's driver's license, showing same address

- car title (if jointly owned), or title to anything else you have joint ownership in

- car insurance (if stating both names)

- any other insurance you might have, e.g. life insurance stating each other as beneficiary

- mobile phone bill showing shared plan and calls to each other

- pictures showing you and your spouse together on the above stated trip, may-be also some other pictures from holidays and family events (e.g. birthdays, christmas, thanksgiving, easter)

This is just what I came up with for now. I'm sure others will jump in and share their thoughts as well.

I wish you all the best.

Tanja

Dear Tanja, (F)

Thank you very much for your reply. I wish you and all people here the best too ! :) In respect of the points...

8) I was thinking of sending the bank statements covering the period since we have opened the account until now, because I was reflecting like this ... the account will be 16 months old in May 2007, its a new account, so I will send the more statements I can to don' t give them the false impression that we have opened the bank account very near to file the petition. For this reason we have included all statements.

9) The pre-aproved credit card letter addressed to me by the same bank we have a joint account is just one more proof that we share the same address.

10 up tp 12) I do agree with you these items do correspond to the joint health insurance we have here. Hmm girl, I have to find more diferent kind of evidences... It will be more hours of work out... Soon I will loose some weight :yes:

13) This medical ID card is not related to the joint health insurance we have in US. This card was issued on abroad, when I got sick the last time we traveled to see my husbands' family. This a kind of patient card this is just an additional proof that I have been in the vacations with my husband. Hmm, weak proof  ?

14) People who apply for a first time driver license, after taking the written test and aproved will receive the " instruction permit" or " learner' s permit".This is a kind of "driver license", which will expire on your second birthday and allows you to drive only if on the front seat there is a someone who has a valid driver license for at least one year. ;) You can consider this document a kind of driver license, with some restriction. Thanks for remind me I will include my husband's driver license as well

17) The 2006 tax return my husband is still preparing it. Do you think that we send the petition without it for now and if they ask we will send it later to them. Or do you think that it will be better just to send the petiton as soon as we have the 2006 tax return?

Concerning the things you have listed that I might include (thanks a lot for your help) :) the suitable or us would be pictures. Do you think that a petition with pictures looks like diferent? I mean more positive?

Dear Tanja, thank you very much for your kindness and advice. Like I said before, it is a a big comfort to have you guys over here. Until next time! Take care and one more time, thank you

Yes, it finally did come in the mail, both the NOA and the biometrics appointment for May 22.

The reason I was so worried was because when I filed the AOS paperwork for my stepchildren, the USCIS sent the notices to our street address. We live in a little town which does not have mail delivery to your door, everyone gets a PO box free of charge. Any mail sent to the street address is returned to sender. It took me a long time to get that mess sorted out and I was afraid that it was happening again.

I am beginning to think I am the only April filer who still hasnt received the NOA & biometrics letter  By the way James you were right I called USCIS and after an inept rep kept telling me that it was too soon to be calling abt approval of petition and I kept telling him that I wasnt calling about approval just about the whereabouts of my NOA because he kept saying that I was sent paperwork in the mail explaining how their process worked. Yikes, he needed a refresher course in opening up his ears and listening to the question  . He just kept going on and on about how I already have the NOA because I have the receipt # to which I replied that an officer from USCIS gave me the number, anyway he finally gave up and transferred me to an officer who told me that they didnt receive my petition until April 23. hmm why does the automated message sent to me by email say April 25th and my USPS delivery confirmation says April 21th? Anyway she did say I have to give it 30 days and if I havent received it by then to call them back so they can send a request to the TSC to send me one. What date do I count from April 21st, 23rd or 25th? Unfortunately still as of today May 12 I havent received anything since I got the biometric receipt, what gives?

If you have made it this far in the post , YOU ARE EITHER VERY PATIENCE, BRAVE, or BORED...lol

By the way utopia what is ur removing conditions timeline so far, could u list it?
