I was actually asking more because I feel like the fact that they went out of their way to pay off this particular affair makes me wonder if there was something unique about it.

 

Perhaps it was because she was a porn star, but that just doesn't seem like a "big deal" enough to try to cover it up. As we all know, his history of infidelity has been well known from long before running for President. If it didn't matter before, sleeping with a porn star wouldn't have mattered. 

It's all speculation but I just figure there is a possibility that some details of their affair would have been particularly, and uniquely, embarrassing. As a porn star she likely has a history of doing "out there" things in the bedroom, so perhaps it wasn't the affair itself as much as details that she could provide that they thought would be embarrassing. As I suggested before - Perhaps he truly does have a golden showers fascination? Or some other weird quirk in the bedroom.

 

Ultimately though none of that would have mattered. The people who didn't vote for him still wouldn't have voted for him, and the people that supported him wouldn't have been swayed. If they weren't swayed by his past infidelity, having weird fetishes wouldn't have tipped the scales in my view.
