Hey guys, someone who recently has gone through, or are going through the process of K1 Visa in Brazil/with a brazilian beneficiary, can tell me how the scheduling of the interview works? I`ve been reading this forum a lot, together with other articles I found online and the information about this is very confusing. Some say that when the consulate is ready, they will send you a letter with the date of your interview, while other say that when they are ready you should fill out form DS-160 and then YOU can choose an date for the interview.

The NVC received my case last week, but we are still waiting on case number. I`m just trying to figure out what the next step will be so i`ll be ready.

Thank you!

It’s actually pretty straight forward and all the information you need is on the embassy website. Search for K1 and it will give you a list step by step on what you need to do. If you haven’t gotten a number from NVC yet you need to sit and wait. Without the nbc number you can’t do anything. You can start gathering documents you’re gonna need for the interview. You schedule your own medical and interview. Follow the guidelines from the Rio embassy website and you won’t miss anything.

Thank you for your reply.

Right here on visa journey page, http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Brazil_K1_Guide, they say we`ll receive a letter with the date of the interview already scheduled. So that to me, it`s not so straight forward.

I was just looking for someone who could tell me how the process was for them, not necessarily a generic reply. But again, thank you very much.

Visajpurney is a good community but you really shouldn’t get your official information from them. Check the embassy. You schedule your own.
