So on the 23rd of Feb, my SO called USCIS and was put through to Tier 2 for an update on our case. They told her that they were processing it “as we speak”. We contacted them a week later for another update and was then told by Tier 2 that a RFE had been issued on the 22nd of Feb. We waited and waited, and 10 days later, we contacted them again to be told that no such thing had been carried out and that no RFE was on the way to us. Frustrated, my SO eventually contacted them again to be told that they’d filed an INTERNAL RFE and hadn’t actually sent us anything. Is this normal? We are on 199 days now and have passed the VJ timeline estimates. No more news.

What month did you file your petition? Are people who filed around the same date as you getting NOA2s? They’re working on august filers as of now. If you filed past that you just need to sit and wait. K1 is taking longer and longer these days.

Hi, thanks for the reply. We filed in August, and yes a lot of people have received NOA2s. I get that it’s a long process, it’s just the different information given to us surrounding our case regarding an RFE at the moment.

Unfortunately you can’t really trust USCIS over the phone. They are known to give out false information all the time. I would open an inquiry on the website and wait til you hear back. If they don’t give you any information there, you can start by getting in touch with your congressman to check on your application for you.
