Already filed a petition (i130) on July 17 for my spouse, can i still apply for B2 visa

Hello Everyone,

I am a Permanent Resident holder. I already filed a Petition i-130 for my wife (she is in Nepal)  on July 17 but i haven't got any reply or approval yet.  I wonder, Can i  still apply B2 visa for her? What are the changes gonna be??

You can't apply for her. She has to apply on her own.

You can’t. She can. The chances of her getting it are zero to none. She’s got an active immigrant petition on her name and someone correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t it hard enough as it is to get tourist visas in Nepal? She’ll most likely get denied. You’ll have wasted all that money. Wait out the petition. Visit her in her country or plan a third country visit. And be patient for the long road apart.

Thank you so much for your reply. Yeah it's really hard to get tourist visa in Nepal, barley someone can get. But i just wanna know, if she applied and get denied. Does it gonna effect for her petition??

If the reason she gets denied is due to immigrant intent then it won’t affect your immigrant petition. But if she’s got skeletons in her closet that makes her ineligible for a visa then that’s another story.
