I am planning to apply tourist visa in the USA this summer. But I have certain concerns.

1. My Mom will be the one who's paying my entire trip. (She's working at Europe)
2. I have an American boyfriend. One of the main reasons why I want to go there including traveling around USA.
3. I am a third year college student, will this be considered as a close tie in PH? Also, I'm 18 years old.

If its too risky, I have a back-up plan but I'm not really sure how safe it is. We can have OJT in USA and I will apply for that this summer (J1 VISA) and after the OJT, I will apply for Tourist Visa. Would that help or not? thank you so much for your help guys.

You're free to apply. That said, a young female (assuming..sorry if I'm wrong! ) college student with a US boyfriend is quite a challenge to get a tourist visa from PH. It's quite unlikely to happen, but the only thing to lose is the $160 fee.

You would be granted, or not, the J-1 visa based upon the merits of your application. Having visited the US in the past without violating status does help, but is not a guarantee of anything.

Answer this question... Say you go to the US and have such a great time with your bf that he asks you to marry him. What is to stop you from staying and adjusting status through him instead of returning home?

He would provide you with room and board, you can continue your education in the US, and you could eventually get a job?

Well, tbh not yet. My boyfriend is around my age too,  we are still saving for it and I need to graduate so getting married, that's far from our priority list. And besides, I believe I'm too young for that.

Nah, I'm near to graduate I couldn't just end it and not to brag I'm a consistent honor student in my uni so I wouldn't waste it just like that.

I know that its way to risky but I guess I will do it, but do you think they will ask about my boyfriend during the interview which I have to tell the truth, right? as well as this is my first time going out of the country, is that a possible reason to more likely get denied?

aww yeah true :( anyways, thank you.

I'm not sure what is "risky" about it. It's unlikely you'll get a tourist visa, but it's not risky to try.

Lack of a travel history is a reason to wonder why you want to travel to the US all of a sudden. Nobody knows for sure what they will ask (or assume), but it's certainly possible and common for them to ask who you will be meeting in the US. If asked, you must disclose it.

bcos it would be so frustrating to get denied, but if I will not be able to make it, how long I can re-apply? thanks.

From PH, 18, never left the country, US boyfriend...thats basically 99% denial for sure.

Going to the interview would just be a formality.

If you have a spare $160 then sure you can apply, theres always that 1%.

Him visiting you or meeting in a 3rd country would be a better idea.
