Which Receipt # to check, I-751 or CRI-89?

Hi guys! As I was reading some threads many of you are confused on which receipt numbers to check for the case status since it’s giving us two: (1) I-751 - which is the same as the one on the extension letter and (2) CRI-89.

 

Don’t worry, I’m one of those confused too. 😅

 

 

Is the CRI-89 is the biometric one meaning they received our fingerprints already if the status shows case was received? Which is which? 🤔🤔

 

 

Any thoughts or opinions? It will be greatly appreciated.

The CRI-89 is to do with the green card itself and is linked to your biometrics. The case status for this shows "received" as soon as they generate the letter and the receipt number for it. It usually updates once the green card has the go-ahead to be produced after the approval of the I-751 which now has its own separate tracking. Whether its accurate or not is another question since we only just started getting the ability to track it and it has that placeholder "local office" text.

Thank you for this insights. So it means the I-751 that was transferred to our local office is the biometrics?
