A good friend of mine will be filing for a K-1 Visa soon as he returns home in the US  from the Philippines as a engaged man. His mother is terminally ill and would love for his mother to see her daughter in law before she passes away.

Any suggestions for him would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. ~Raeleean

Congrats to him!

I wish him luck, but I just don't see an expedite of the I-129F for this reason. I'm sorry.

Maybe USEM will expedite the interview for him and save like a month of the 8-10 months.

I agree that it is not likely that the expedite will be granted. But do keep us informed.

DIL suggests they are married?

Anyway the obvious route is to visit.

Expedites are difficult and that doesn’t fall within the normal expedite reasons. You can still file and take a chance. It won’t hurt to ask.

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.

Thanks everyone for your comments. Yes, it looks like it will not be sufficient enough for Expedite but can't hurt to try :) ~Raeleean

Actually, since there is a LONG wait once filed,  perhaps your friend could put off filing the K1, and have her try for a visitor visa.  As long as she has "something" to come back to in the PH,   it should not be a problem.  Things like a job, or real estate etc..   Baring that, they probably won't issue a visitor visa.

Thank you for that, unfortunately she does not have any of the aformentioned.
