Hi.

Our i-130 was accepted a few weeks ago and we have recieved the NVC Welcome letter. We just sent in form ds-261 online today.

Can we do nothing but wait, or is there something we should do now to speed up the process? According to the letter we have to wait to pay the visa fees.

Thanks :)

It can take few days before the system allows you to pay. You can’t do anything to speed that up. In the mean time you can start gathering all civil documents of the beneficiary and have i864 ready.

how did you do the online form before paying the fee?

2 fees bills should be paid

the AOS and the DS 260

then you are allowed to fill out the online forms

you will need to get the criminal report from Norway and any other countries the person has lived in (in last 5 years for over a year)

when you fill out the AOS, oniine, they will ask for supporting documents to verify your income

when you have all these assembled and get the bar code cover letter,  submit them in one mailing

be sure to put (on each and every page in the upper right hand corner) your case number,  both names,  both DOB's as you can not staple, paper clip, or arrange them in a folder / this helps them from getting misplaced

Please you said we can not staple, paper clip, documents for NVC... Please tell me how will I arrange it together to avoid mix up.. for example the tax transcripts for 3 years... how will I separate them?

you just have to seperate them

make a list of the enclosed documents and arrange them in that order and send the list with the documents

Number pages 1-whatever and if the year does not appear on a page label the year

You can paper clip and use binder clips, just don't staple.

Also the ds-261 takes a little bit to get into the system.  Join your monthly NVC filers thread in the progress reports forum.  Follow the guides listed above not that other person's post...
