The right to vote against Trump is nice in theory but living in California we do a good job voting liberal as it is, maybe I should move to a swing state where my vote might have more of an impact lol.

From what I can see, California is looking real sad lately...Glad your all taking our criminals and illegals though!...Keep up the good work.

You being from the UK, I'm not sure what the pros and cons would be for you.

For my wife, being a citizen would mean we could work or travel overseas without jumping through a thousand hoops because having a Yemeni passport is essentially worthless these days.

I am an American by birth and I've never been called for jury duty. I probably would not make it out of the initial screening anyway since I would let them know point blank that I refuse to convict for any victimless crime, no matter how guilty the defendant is.

As others have mentioned worry-free travel is the primary and only reason for my husband and I for his pursuit for US citizenship. We plan on living in Nicaragua and being able to travel freely to the US for family stuff without him having to apply for a Visa every time (and probably get denied because of a citizen spouse and risking overstay blah-blah) is key.

Also with fees constantly increasing we'd rather be done with USCIS sooner rather than later and use those funds for other things.

For people from countries who can't easily travel either abroad or to the USA, I totally support US citizenship.

1. Opportunity to vote FOR Trump in 2020.

2. Jury Duty is not every year, but every four years (whether it is city/county or federal, you just serve once).

3. You are a UK Citizen now? Dual citizenship. However, just be aware that UK banks etc are asking for US SS # for reporting earned income in the UK to the IRS here.

Lets face it...some of the African countries are...and because of the behaviour of their leaders and the West/China etc....However, Tump has no filter. Maybe he said it, maybe he didn't.
