Okay, maybe this is stupid. I think it might be fun and interesting.

I have read that petitions that are filed in the winter months have a slightly shorter acceptance time (NOA2) than those filed in the summer and early fall.

Just thought I'd see if this rings true given enough of you play along

For those of you who have received an NOA2, can you tell us the Month you got your NOA1 and the Month you got your NOA2? So, pretty much how many months went between the two

:D

You can actually check all vj members who created timelines through vj timeline page.. the average changes every month. Right now it looks like 196 days (but September and August was less so maybe about 180-200 days on average of 190s)

There is no information for people who filed January 2017, February 2017, or March 2017.

However, I looked at it briefly... and it really does seem like there is a slightly longer wait time for summer months from what I saw... very strange.

Do you know where the 01, 02 and 03/2017  info could be?

Thanks so much :D

You can move the dates and play with the graph there. The one I've sent you only shows approved ones up to one year backwards.

however it doesn't matter much because the backlog happened after march 2017.. so last year cases were taking 1-2 months to get approval for winter or even less.

There are so many different pages and statistics all over vj. Just go to your timeline and try different links there.

This is for averages for example.

http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/stats.php?history=360

also you can find someone from January 2017 filers topic and follow those people to see.

Oh MY! I had no idea a "backlog" happened. What was this due to?

And okay thanks. I do not see where to "play with the dates", I looked, lol!

Wow lots of things mostly election times and administration related as it seems. (Too many applications on n400 and h1b etc. and administration wants more scrutiny hence many many rfes)

for jan feb I think the wait was about 3 months, for march 4 months after May it became 5 months and June was 6-7 months, july started on day 190. And August on 189.

It is going down a bit but these are only average. There are cases from January who got noa2 in this January and May people still waiting at 9 months. Etc.

on average at this moment the wait is 6-7 months as they started September 2 weeks ago. But people are still waiting from all other months.

I couldn't find the dates part from there either but I know I found it from somewhere before (sorry can't remember exactly) but as I said you can just find the January filers topic which would be better I believe.

i don't usually look that far to guess my timeline because timelines change every year. I would suggest keeping eye on what's happening at the moment.

Maybe we will all get lucky and see it down to 150 days soon :) I will keep hopeful

Backlog probably due to spring and summer petitions , people use those months to travel more. Thus heading to meet their loves and returning to file the petition. Creating high amounts of applications, last may, june, july and august was large amounts of received petitions.

While Sept, Oct, Nov and Dec 2016 Noa1's were getting NOA2's within 1-4 months vs the now 6+ months

BTW, Aug NOA1 - Feb NOA2 = 194 Days
