Today two people from the embassy showed up at Carolina's apartment to interview her. At the same time someone from the Bogota Embassy called me to interview me via telephone. The interview lasted over an hour. After checking with Carolina they asked us the same questions. How did we meet? Visits? Marriage plans? Tattoos? Favorite movies? favorite foods? Now I have to email them a PDF of our entire Facebook Messenger conversation from 2012 to present, all WU money I have sent and any pictures of us together. They went through Carolina's phone. Hopefully we will satisfy whatever doubts they still have.

Today's update, Carolina received an email from the Embassy. They need her to send the two passports and a form her teenage son must sign acknowledging he can not marry before entering a U.S. port to the Embassy. Sounds like we are finally approved.

Wow thanks for the updates. Could there be anything that stood in your case that for this degree of vetting? Something like a vast age gap?

We are 12 years apart and she is in her 30's. The lawyer and I were just talking about this. Wondering what caused the red flags. The only things that stand out is the length of our relationship, 10+ years and the fact that I am employed in a business that sees a fair amount of human trafficking. I have to attend a yearly seminar that deals with spotting human trafficking and what to do.

That makes more sense why they would want to dig deeper than usual. Sounds like you passed their litmus test so congratulations and best of luck!

So they called Carolina from the Embassy today and asked her some very simple questions, what is my cell number, what do I do for work, her address at work and home, etc. She asked the lady what was missing from our application and the response was they were just finishing the process. Hopefully this is a good thing.

Hello, We are going through the exact same thing. We also have age difference. System says updated on 9/25/18 but still shows ready. My fiancé sent our WhatsApp messages but he only had from January 2018. They didn’t specify a specific date to send from. Hope it clears their doubts. Praying they send us the email soon 🙏
