Vaccines for AOS

I am trying to get all the vaccines for AOS sorted before I attend the knightsbridge medical as I don't want to waste $$$ out there, my doctor was saying the Hep A / B vaccines are administered over 4 months... so I am assuming I only need the first shot of the vaccine to satisfy the AOS reqs? Unless knightsbridge gives you all the shots at the same time, in which case I wouldn't mind paying them...

Does anyone have any experience with getting all the shots beforehand and adjusting with no issues?

I understand the K1 guide says you don't need them, but the CDC website says otherwise... which is what has confused me. Have you been able to adjust with only the vaccines mentioned in the guide?

This is the correct CDC chart direct from the UK embassy website (https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/medical-examination/)

You need ONLY the vaccinations relevant to your age and therefore unless you are under 18 (or 7), Hepatitis is NOT required.

I haven't yet adjusted status but I have been given the correct form for my AOS which clearly states I have all required vaccinations for AOS.

Yes, my wife was able to adjust with the vaccines required in the guide. Stop making mountains out of molehills.

Better to be safe than sorry so don't worry about asking.  Nobody wants to have to pay a civil surgeon just because people made you feel bad for asking a question.

Ask what you need, be sure about your way forward.

Best of luck in your journey!

You already know that if you are older than 19 yrs you don't need Hep, but I want to explain when immunizations are a series of shots.  There are waivers for shots if they are medically inappropriate...allergic, MMR during pregnancy come to mind. It would also be medically inappropriate to have shots with a waiting period in between doses too close together. One of the waivers that can be marked on the  sheet is "insufficient time interval".

Example for adult shots-- MMR requirement is two doses (minimum 28 days apart). If you had one as a child, they would expect you to get dose two now.  But what if you had no record of MMR and got a jab (Dose 1) from the GP then went to your visa medical?  If 28 days had not passed,  you would get the waiver of insufficient time interval. If you got your first MMR at the medical, the second is waived on the same grounds,   Once Knightsbridge signs off that you were as complete as medically allowed on the day of your medical, you are cleared for AOS. But if you left something else like Td undone, you would still have to get a civil surgeon to sign off in the US because you weren't complete at Knightsbridge. By that time, your one MMR would be past 28 days so you would be due MMR to be considered complete on that new date.   Get everything required signed off at Knightsbridge and you can skip the civil surgeon and keep any  waivers of insufficient time interval.

Yes. I adjusted with only my shot record from Knightsbridge. I did not see a civil surgeon for form I-693.

Shots were MMR, Tdap. Flu marked waived for "not flu season". Varicella waived because of having chickenpox.
