I am currently filling in the I-129F Petition for Alien Fiancé and had questions regarding the details required, particularly the current and past addresses.

1) My Fiancé and I met in college and as such we both did a lot of moving around as you can imagine. Is it really necessary to list every address (all apartments) we lived in from the previous 5 years or can we just list our most current physical address and leave out the rest?

2) Is it alright to list our parents homes as our mailing addresses as it is likely both of us might move into new residences before the petition is processed?

3) Finally, can we just list our parents addresses as our own current address to avoid unnecessary details?

Thanks

1.  You must list ALL addresses.  You must be as accurate as you can.

2. Yes.

3.  No.  You must be truthful in answering immigration questions.

If they were "unnecessary details", they wouldn't ask for them.

If by living in different apartments you mean you changed your primary residence from one place to another then yes, those definitely need to be listed.

Think about, what addresses you showed on your tax returns, what addresses the department of motor vehicles had on file, your paychecks, your school financial paperwork, your W2 and 1099 forms, your voter registration, your bank statements. You get the idea. Those definitely need to be listed.

If you lived in a hotel or at a friend’s place for a few days while your house was fumigated. You probably do not need to list that.

Ok thank you for your feedback.

There are also some cases where my fiance would travel to the USA and then back home, each time changing his physical address. So he would go home to the same address as before he left. Does he need to list each stay separately?

I had to list about 6-7 addresses on my I-129F for myself as I moved a lot during university, it is tedious but if you put in the effort now it will save you a lot of headache later.

I left out the few weeks where I was living out of my car between places, but I included my international addresses as I studied/worked abroad multiple times. I just made sure to list the dates as month/year instead of day/month/year to avoid any unnecessary suspicion about where I was when I didn't have a permanent address.

If your fiance had a permanent address while staying in the states I would list it, just to be safe- but if he was traveling and staying in mostly hotels or friend's houses while he was there I wouldn't' list that, it will show up on his I-94 that he was in the U.S. during that time.
