Very odd that the embassy wound give a 10-year tourist visa to someone who has a student visa too. Why did she need to spend $160 on a visa to visit over the next 10 years when she’s going to be here for a few years studying anyway? I wonder what “strong ties” to Sweden she demonstrated to the CO whilst having signed up

for a multi-year study path here?

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

 

Now a US citizen!

How about do everything right and use her student visa as intended and arrive on time for her school.    This is only asking for problems.

Of course I don't! Silly Boiler.  I'm SUPER annoying.   I'm sure you've noticed.     If I did have friends though, they'd have to ask their own questions.

I know what I would do.  I would just enter and exit on each visa as it was intended.  Keep it simple, straight forward, and legal....just my 2 cents.

Apparently flagpoling is doing what this “friend” wants to do... “spin around the flagpole” of another country to activate a different visa.

If she was coming back on a tourist visa I’d agree, but I think a couple of months, leaving and then renter ing on a student visa wouldn’t be such an issue.

of course if she has her long summer vacations to tour while being a student too one wonders why she needs to make the extra trips now... if it was just to “tack on” then I think it makes more sense to stay and do it at the end of the school year, not before.

Possibly got the tourist visa before the student one, even some time before.

Flagpoling is when you enter a country with the intent to immediately leave and re enter the country you just left, walking around the flagpole, a common activity.

Yes. Sometimes common sense prevails. It appears her intentions are not altogether academic.
