You can go to this website to check your case status https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw==  you should wait until you get an interview date before purchasing a plane ticket.

Thank you Hsantos, when i type in the number it says:  Action required: Complete Form DS-260

But the lawyer said he would do it and said we had to wait for a letter from the NVC before we could do anything... So should i just wait for them to do it? or should i bug the attorney about it?

Hello!

I finally received my approval notice today!!!!!!  It has a posted date of 12/19/18. Best X-mas present!

I filed 4/19/18 so it LITERALLY took 8 months. My case was in Nebraska, which I hear is much slower. Hopefully NVC works a little bit faster now.

Just wanted to give everyone an idea on the timeline as well as a little bit of hope because I know there are times it feels imposible to reach. Patience is key!! 😊😊

Best wishes to everyone!

Might belong to a different post but wanted to give an update on my case.

Waiver approved: 12/19/18

Submitted NVC docs/fees: 1/3/19

CC with NVC: 1/25/19

Interview date letter: 3/8/19

Interview: 4/23/19 in Costa Rica 🇨🇷

Thank God this long journey is getting closer to the end. For all those waiting, don’t lose hope!

I would bug your lawyer, that's what you pay them for. Also the website can take a little time to update, you could always call the toll free number, but be prepared for a long wait and some rudeness. If you have any other questions feel free to ask, my husband just went threw this, his interview was in January at cuidad Juárez.

Cool!  Yes, I will definitely post updates, how long it takes for case to close at NVC.  I'm working on taxes so I can submit application and affadavit of support next week.  Then have to wait for NVC to close case and forward to consulate for appointment.  My husband is the one from Peru. Can't wait to get to the end!!  My lawyer said the waiver is the hard part, so sending good wishes your way!

Hi Hsantos, thanks for your response! I have two questions,

1. How long did he have to go to Juarez for? i plan to go with my wife but need to know how much i will need to take off from work.

2. what questions did they ask him? i have heard of people getting denied for other things.

Thanks again!

You have to wait the letter by mail. I just read on Facebook blog USCIS asked different from people. (New medical records, tax returns or more hardship) Keep updated us when you will got RFE in hand.

Hello! We are waiting on approval for my husband's waiver. Our lawyer let us it could take 6-8 months for approval after biometrics appointment.  Our case is at NVC. Timeline below:

Receipt date: October 25th, 2018

Biometrics Appointment: December 4th, 2018

Does anyone have a similar timeline? Please let me know! We are anxiously waiting for approval.

My days are similar

my received date is October 15,2018 and I didn’t have a biometrics appointment since I’m under daca and immigration has had my biometrics. When I log in on USCIS.com  it says my cases update 2/11/2019 but nothing else shows but that they received my biometrics in October☹️

My husband was there about 2 weeks. First you do your medical appointment there about 2 days prior to your appointment, and then you do your biometrics 1 day before your appointment, and then after your approval you wait for them to send back your passport with your visa to a DHL office of your choice. And they asked my husband questions about when he entered, and where, a few questions about me and our kids, and when we got married. Whatever answers you gave on your application has to match what they have. If not they can deny you. And try to look nice, and don't take anything with you, except for any documents you might need. No cellphone. And your wife can't go either.

Hello Everyone,

New to this thread, but I've enjoyed reading everyone's experiences, it is pretty nerve wracking!

My timeline is

Filed I601-A: 3/20/18

Filed DS260: 9/13/18

Approved I601-A: 10/1/18

and now I am waiting for them to send me an interview date. From what I read, it is taking about 7-9 months for them to send an interview date, correct?

I am sooo anxious! But please everyone keep us updated so that we know how long it is taking. Goodluck to everyone!
