Hey guys I thought I'd give you an update on my situation (USCIS has yet to notify NVC of our pending 601a...).  On January 8 I received a letter from UCSIC regarding my inquiry as to why they haven't yet notified NVC of our 9/18 submitted 601a....

The USCIS letter reads "When the application is either approved or denied we will electronically notify the National Visa Center (NVC) of our decision. Currently your application is being adjudicated."

Is this a new thing?  I thought USCIS notified NVC a month or 2 after you submit your 601a just to let them know its pending?  Kinda bummed because I have all of our NVC documents ready to be submitted but can't because I don't want NVC to give us an interview date without an approved 601a.  Does it take long for the NVC to approve your documents and give your an interview date in Juarez?

I would send the documents to NVC if you do have them ready. As of right now it's taking 6 to 8 months to get an interview in Cd Juarez. They are scheduling closing cases from May at the end of this month. My approval date was April 2018, I also waited till I got the approval notice to send my documents to NVC. For one thing or another, my case was closed till August. I am still waiting for an interview date.

Hey guys wanted to update you. 601a was APPROVED on 10/3/2018, then we waited and waited for the embassy appointment. Finally on December 12 , we received the notification! My husband is scheduled for the interview in Tegucigalpa Honduras on January 30. We are excited and praying that everything goes well. Please wish us good luck.

So looks like USCIS do not notify NVC from filed waiver anymore?!...they just notify NVC with final decision. I have similar situation like you. 5 months and USCIS still did not send email to NVC from my filed waiver..They are overloaded. USCIS page said, 3rd quarter they have 15,985 waiver and approved only 5,798. Denied 409. Pending case end of 3rd quarter 39,728...
