I601A timeline

-Received 1/16/18

-Fingerprints around 2 weeks after don’t know exact date.

-Approved today 9/13/18

I had to call USCIS and they said letter just went out today. Now we wait for NVC.

Any tips while we wait for NVC, anything we might need?

We have the exact same dates still no approval, in what office you had application?

It was first at the NBC (National Benefits Center) it never changed online, it just said fingerprint fee submitted, and until now it still shows the same thing. I had to call USCIS and ask them and thats when the rep said that the letter was sent today.

Hi All! Finally heard some news yesterday! We filed our 601A and it was received on Jan. 4, 2018. Our approval date was 9/8/2018 - we got this processed through the National Benefits Center. Now, we wait for NVC. I am still confused on the process and am unsure how long it will take for us to get an appt at Cuidad Juarez. We do have an attorney - the paralegal emailed me yesterday stating she would get me a list of paperwork I need...

Congrats on your approval I know this isn’t your question but can you give some pointers on your I-601a evidence. Like what did you use. Was it a long letter. Anything will be appreciated. 🙂

Hey! Thanks! My letter was about 3 pages typed. Basically, I discussed the mental and financial hardship I would go thru if my husband would be separated from me. We have children therefore if separated they would grow up without a father. I also had an evaluation from a psychiatrist, affirming that due to my past (I grew up without my dad and in an abusive household), me being without my husband would be detrimental. Afterwards, I described the financial hardship- basically, we have a house, car and a child together- if he gets separated from me, I wouldn’t be able to pay the bills on my own. I am also a nurse here. I know there are nurses in Mexico, but the scope of practice is completely different, and I wouldn’t be able to practice at full capacity there. Hope this helps....

Thank you so much, just being part of this community is helping cope through my anxiety. I got a psych evaluation also, thank you so much, and good luck on your journey I’m elated and over the moon for you 😊

We received our 601a in the mail rejected yesterday (fedex’d it to our local Chicago lockbox 10 days ago). Notice says rejected due to signature needed.  My husband, the applicant, signed Part6.a. and we didn’t use a preparer or intrepreter.

1.  Anyone know where else he signs? We can not locate another signature block on the 601a...  His affidavit and his cover letter are both signed and notarized so they must be taking about the 601a ?

2. Do I have to recopy our entire packet to resubmit once we figure out what signature they are talking about?? It’s not clear on the notice, just says to “correct and resubmit”. Every page came back with a code printed on the bottom and some pages of the petition have scribbles.

I’ve emailed the lockbox email provided on the notice but I am so anxious and confused !  I’ll call tomorrow of course, hopefully can get through to someone 😢

Update:  Just fedex'd a fresh copy of our packet with a new signature... hope it doesn't come back again rejected! and the waiting begins...AGAIN :) looking on the positive side of having it rejected so soon - I reviewed my packet one more time and went with putting copies of both sides of our certificates...  GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!
