Congratulations! I have a question my husband and I have been waiting on the I-601A approval but the six months have passed already I know that the waiting is six to eight months (follow it online) should I submit the inquiry as well? What was the answered you received when you submitted the inquiry? When you submitted yours did your case moved faster?

At the site: https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/ they have been saying 6-8 months. They also have a date on there  listed (right now about the end of December, 2017) that if your case was submitted before then, go ahead and make the call.  As ours was submitted in April, while we are very anxious, we are nowhere near the point of calling.

You should also ask your lawyer why when they received your appointment letter they didn’t call you to make sure you received it too. They get a copy of everything and I’m sure they got it days ago. Our lawyer calls us to make sure we get what he gets and even reminds us the day before about appointments so we don’t miss anything. I mean, we are paying them a lot of money and to miss important steps like this is tough. Luckily this is ok but I would be on top of them after this to make sure they keep me informed. Just some friendly advice. I’ve been dealing with lawyers since 2015 and so ready to be done with all or this! Good luck to you on your journey 😀

I totally spoke to my attorney I understand one missed letter( we didn’t get the receipt of 601a) but now no biometric appointment?!  Makes no sense turns out they missed ONE NUMBER IN OUR  ADDRESS ! We put in a request for address change and got a confirmation that we should get a letter by mail by September 8,2018!  I am beyond upset that someone could mess something so important up!

Yep, I knew it had to be something like that. The paralegal that works with our lawyer doesn’t like me because I always want to check over whatever he fills out for us. I have found a few mistakes in his work. Letters on names being left off or transposing numbers. These are very important documents. Like I said, we are paying a lot of money to them and we should expect them to do their jobs correctly. Then again, it could have been a mistake on USCIS. Glad to see you were able to resolve this quickly. 😀

The NVC can process your IV application and the I-864 AoSupport application while you are waiting for your I-601a to be approved.

Before the NVC will schedule your interview, the NVC will need:

1) Completed and paid DS-260 (your IV application)

2) Completed and paid I-864 Affidavit of Support.

3) Approved I-601a from the USCIS.  USCIS will send you a letter in the mail and they will inform the NVC of their decision.

We are from Honduras as well, tomorrow is our 601a 6th month anniversary. Our receipt date is March 5th and we were initially told from 4-6months than our lawyer called to let us know that Nebraska has change its waiting time 6-8 months. So I hope it doesn't drag all the way to 8 months! Base on what I see in others approval, I am looking for late October or mix November. Good luck on your application and hope yours is approved sooner.

My husband is from Honduras as well we waited about 8 months for our approval. We are now waiting for an appointment our attorney told us the same thing and it didnt turn out that way. I am hearing that the wait for the appointment is anywhere from 3-6 months. I am just hoping its true because we have waited so long. From following these feeds I have learned that every case is different and there is actually no rhyme or reason to how things are done. Good luck! I will continue to post as we move forward!

We waited 8 months our 601 A approval date was Dec 21, biometrics was like two weekes after the 12th of January I think. We recieved our approoval notice late August. We are waiting for an apt now. We should start a Honduras feed so we can help each other out through this journey. I have noticed allot of people after approval dont post anymore.
