Hi guys, I've been checking this thread religiously for the past 7 months and today I finally got good news and I knew I had to make an account to share with you.

I-601A Received Date: 12/8/17

I-601A Biometrics Done: 1/13/18

I-601A APPROVAL: 7/25/18

I actually found out by email - I set up an account at the new USCIS website: https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ months ago but the case status always stayed the same whenever I would check. Friday morning (7/26) I received a notification email that action had been taken on my case. When I logged in, I saw the approval and freaked out. Today we received the I-797 approval notice in the mail (so fast!).

I had been worried about not seeing any updates on my case, especially after so many people had been either approved or moved to the Nebraska Processing Center (ours stayed at the NBC in Missouri), so we submitted a Case Inquiry the first week of July. I don't know if that had any effect on my case.

I just want to say THANK YOU to all the posters here who answer questions and provide updates - you guys kept me sane throughout this whole ordeal. I wish all of you still waiting so much luck and I want you to know that I'm pulling for you guys to get your approvals quickly. I know the waiting is so painful and scary but please hang in there!!!!

PS FYI - This website (https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do) is still out of date and has my status saying that the fingerprint fee was received. So maybe don't take that website into account as much.

Hopefully it’s soon! Best of luck and keep us updated and thanks for the dependable website I was constantly checking the other one and was worried nut just signed up for the new one . Don’t want to miss anything thanks !

My timeline:

Waiting now! Can't wait for that day to come because NVC sent a message saying they are only waiting for the approved 601a to schedule the appointment in Tegucigalpa.

Hi everyone, So our 601 has been approved (Thank God) Now we are in the process of getting the "Carta de no antecedentes penales" from Mexico in order to make the appointment in Ciudad Juarez.  Is anyone else trying to get the same letter?

Well you should get it before you go to Juarez or else it will delay your stay in mexico.

My attorney advise me to get it, but on the paperwork says you must be at least 16 yrs old before coming to the US so I didn't get it. Also I consulted a couple other attorneys about the subject and the told me I didn't need it because I migrated when I was 11 yrs.

Hi everyone! I’m new to this site and I’m actually early in the application process. The one thing I’m worried about is the 601a waiver. I’m afraid my husband and I won’t be able to show extreme hardship if I were to leave the country. We don’t have any children and I have two arrests which both DID NOT result in a conviction. Neither of the arrests are a criminal bar. My lawyer tells me that I shouldn’t be worried but for anyone in this situation you know you can’t help but worry. I’m just curious to how everyone showed hardship and if there’s anyone with similar circumstances as mine. Thanks!!!

Hello new here,

my husband's 601A waiver application was received June 27th. We have not received a biometrics appointment notice yet. Should we be worried as it has been a whole month already?

Hello my husband has the same received date. He had his biometrics on the 23 of July. Only difference might be which office you have your case at?

My received date was July 9th. Haven’t received the letter with biometrics appointment either. Which office is processing your husband’s waiver?

I think it has to do with what Biometrics office you have nearby and what they have available. Our Wavier was received in Nebraska On February 8 and my husband didn’t get his biometrics appointment until the end of March. The Appointment was for the first week of April. We also live in Los Angeles so I assumed we live in a busy area. I’ve seen people from other places get their appointment letter and appointment within 30 days. If you are really worried though then call USCIS. It couldn’t hurt right? Good luck 👍🍀

I would recommend calling. Everything i read while wating for my husbands biometric appt said if you do not receive an appt with in 1 mth call to verify. It can happen that it takes more than a month to schedule biometrics but not to often. I would say better safe then sorry, and call them or if u have a laywer call him.

Its hard to say with out knowing your life personally but i do know that our laywer stated he wanted my letter to focus on me, the citizen. He said the citizen is the person that matters for hardship. They could basiclly care less if a foreigner suffers. So make your self the center of the severe and extreme hardship. So if he is from a violent, dangerous, and you poor country, explain how if he lives over there you would suffer with out him but if you go you would also suffer. And how if he works over there it would not help you financilly and if you go and work over there you would end up in debt.

Just some ideas... but of course im not a professional, not a lawyer or anything close. You can google examples of approved letters and get ideas from there as well. Good luck.
