We are on a similar timeline currently at the 8 month mark as well. I am hoping now that our case has been transferred they will process faster.

Hi,

New here. My spouse info:

I-601A Received Date:      1/18/18

I-601A Biometrics Done:  2/12/18

Filed in:  San Jose, CA

With immigration lawyer

Started Application of I-130 in September 2016 and September 2017 got approved

We waited for NVC to tell us that we can proceed with application and in January 2018, we started filing the I-601A and until now, no response yet of approval of the waiver.  We are on a same sex marriage.  I was wondering, so if this gets approved, what will be the next step and for how long will be the next process and how much?

Thanks guys and I do hope we all come out positive of this.

Roger

Any news on approval?

Just want to see what the time frame is looking like.

I know the site says 6 to 8 mths but would like to hear from actual cases.

I guess Im just being hopeful and keeping positive. Keeping the Faith Alive!!

Hi all,

New here to VJ and to this thread! I know this is mainly to target the Mexico waiting times on the i601a waiver, however, i figured El Salvador is pretty close :)  My husband is the one i petition for...just a little timeline from my end we started our journey with our current lawyer back in June of 2016(FOIA was cleared), and we sent the petition i-130 on 12/6/16. they received it on 12/19/16. the petition was approved 5/17. During that time we put a pause on our case due to a lot of health issues on my end and financially it was not possible. On 01/24/18 we revisited the case and began to get prepared with so many evidence of hardships, medical records, marriage, psychological assessment, financial items. The preparation was stressful including getting reference letters from jobs and family members.  Thick thick case we built together with our attorney.  After our end was done, we waited for our attorney to put everything together and put in their research for my husband's country of origin from El Salvador with statistics. We had a lot of paperwork to fill out as well. NEXT...

i601a waiver sent through our lawyer on 5/7/18

receipt recieved 5/21/18

biometrics letter recieved 6/8/18

biometrics done on 6/27/18.

The waiting begins for our approval, has anyone been approved yet and scheduled an interview in their home country?

Any news on approval?

I wish there was a more accurate way of knowing when we will be approved but unfortunately there isn’t. I know of people that have been waiting since last summer for some reason and have seen some approvals within 4 months. It’s a dumb mysterious system that we will never be able to figure out. We are currently at 5 months going on 6. My stress level is to the roof. I check my mail app, my emails and my USCIS apps daily. Sometimes even 2 or three times a day. I just can’t handle this anymore. Hopefully we hear soon but meanwhile I will try to keep my mind off of this. I wish you all good luck and lots of patience. We are in this together!!! We are keeping the Faith!😉😀

Hi guys, I've been checking this thread religiously for the past 7 months and today I finally got good news and I knew I had to make an account to share with you.

I-601A Received Date: 12/8/17

I-601A Biometrics Done: 1/13/18

I-601A APPROVAL: 7/25/18

I actually found out by email - I set up an account at the new USCIS website: https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ months ago but the case status always stayed the same whenever I would check. Friday morning (7/26) I received a notification email that action had been taken on my case. When I logged in, I saw the approval and freaked out. Today we received the I-797 approval notice in the mail (so fast!).

I had been worried about not seeing any updates on my case, especially after so many people had been either approved or moved to the Nebraska Processing Center (ours stayed at the NBC in Missouri), so we submitted a Case Inquiry the first week of July. I don't know if that had any effect on my case.

I just want to say THANK YOU to all the posters here who answer questions and provide updates - you guys kept me sane throughout this whole ordeal. I wish all of you still waiting so much luck and I want you to know that I'm pulling for you guys to get your approvals quickly. I know the waiting is so painful and scary but please hang in there!!!!

PS FYI - This website (https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do) is still out of date and has my status saying that the fingerprint fee was received. So maybe don't take that website into account as much.
