What happens if my child turns 18 before the oath ceremony?

So, with the length of time N400s appear to be taking to get processed (San Francisco FO) I have another thing to worry about. My older kid is turning 18 in April 2019. Our  5-year anniversary is in late December this year so we can submit applications late September. If I’m understanding what I see in other threads correctly, it’s unlikely I’ll get an oath ceremony (possibly not even an interview) by her birthday. Does that mean she has to do it all her on her own? Is there any leeway at all for a child who turns 18 after a parent’s application is filed in timely fashion, but before the process can be completed?

there’s a second potential complication because if we wait till her birthday to find out and then have to file, if it takes the same length of time to process she’ll be living elsewhere for college by the time the interview comes round. But we can’t (or can we?) file at a FO somewhere else if she’s not yet living there? Can we move the case halfway? (<- I have a feeling this last question has been asked and answered elsewhere so thanks in advance for your patience...)

nope,

to derive your citizenship you must be a US Citizen before she turns 18

she will have to file the N400 and take the exam, 90 days before her 5 years of being a LPR and 18 or over

no leeway

so you already know that she will file on her own.

you won't get there in time

she can file anytime and anywhere after her 18th birthday
