Ads in the middle of posts, rather than before or after

Is there a way to turn off the banner ads that pop up in threads? (I'm using Chrome)

Before it never bothered me to see them, but now they seem to be popping up in the MIDDLE of someone's writing in a thread (or in the middle of their signature) rather than at the *end* of the post itself.

 

For example:

 

"Hi, my name is John and I applied for a K1 visa...my question is if I travel to 

 

*BIG HUGE ADVERTISING BANNER*

 

another country while it is processing....yadda yadda yadda

Thya should not be happening. Can you send me a screen grab. We work hard to strike a balance of usability and ads that works for everyone. This def sounds wrong -- and I want to fix it if it's on our end.

@Captain Ewok Here is an example----you'll see the banner ad in the middle of the post I was writing.  I've also seen the ads pop up in the middle of member signatures as well.

Speaking of ads appearing in signatures...but yes, I've also encountered the ads in the middle of posts as described above.

It's happening to me too. It's appearing in the middle of posts, quoted posts, and signatures. Since about last week. Both on the PC and mobile devices.

There is one right on the very first post of this thread in the poster's signature and another one a few posts down from it.

I just saw one which looked like it sponsored the prominent poster....it was in the body...  I felt like asking can I get in on the action, too.....lol

even when a later poster quotes the original post, the ad still appears.  Very confusing and annoying, I almost flagged someone as a spammer the first time I saw it!

This is happening again.  While simply browsing threads (Safari on Mac), I found ads in the middle of these posts:

However, when I copied the links to the individual posts in preparation for making this report, and then tested those links by pasting them into my address bar, one yielded a white space where the ad had been and the other showed no ad at all.

Ironically, an ad now appears within my signature in my first post in this thread, just above.

 

It says "Discover T Select, a new line of homes by Toll Brothers, in The Reserve at Katy..."

It looks like a local ad (Katy is near me) targeted toward me.

And is the "T Select" a takeoff on "TBone"?
