hi,

i have a question about going back home to philippines

i have been undocumented for 1yr and 6mos.

reason is i was helping my sister take care of my grandma since my dad passed away after 2mos of entering the u.s.a

i had a petition but was granted to enter because of my dads dire illness of cancer, so my passport had a "emergency entry" stamp,

i want to go back home now, since we sent of my grandma to the philippines and my sister found a stable job, no use for me staying here in the u.s

i had a two way ticket before,

QUESTION 1: can i just buy a new 1 way ticket going back home, because its very hard for me to contact the issuing ticket company about my old ticket

QUESTION 2: will i be charge for my old ticket?

QUESTION 3: i read somewhere in the forums that its ok to just leave u.s.a with an unexpired passport, and the people at the airport wont hold me, just let me go home,

QUESTION 4: will i be held/hold in NAIA for being undocumented here in the u.s.a once i land in NAIA international airport? im afraid of my country men harrasing me in the airport becuase i was undocumented, can they hold me?

im sorry for so many questions, but this is the only forum that i know that has alot of knowledgable people that can give answers and help me clarify things

thank you so much

Purchase a one way ticket.

Use your unexpired Philipines passport as identification for check-in etc. You will just depart the US.

It will be very difficult for you to return to the US as a visitor as you have overstayed.... but voluntarily departing is not a problem.

I am sure you are looking forward to being home after such a long time away, and with the difficulties you have faced. I hope things go well for you.

yes, its been difficult after my dad passed, taking care of my old grandma and support my sister,

thankyou so much

If that is the practice over there, then it is sad that curs like that exist. The sad thing is that the authorities allow it to happen, because they obviously know, and probably get a share of whatever is mercilessly and heartlessly wrung out of travelers and returnees.

Be encouraged, at least you are going home, where your heart obviously is.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Unless you're on some sort of no-fly list or have other commitments in the US that you must attend to (i.e. pending civil/criminal hearings), there's no reason they would stop you from leaving. They want you gone after overstaying. :P  The only exit control for US flights is APIS, which won't be an issue. You don't go through immigration counters like in most countries.

I can't say with 100% certainty that NAIA won't care, but I see absolutely no reason why they would care if you overstayed somewhere else. That's not any of their business or concern.

For reference, you will have a 10 year bar on any visa to the US due to the overstay in excess of 1 year.

thank you so much

1. Opo, you can buy a new one way ticket home with no issues.

2. The won't charge you for the old ticket.

3. Do you have a expired passport or a valid passport? If it's expired you will need to contact the Philippine embassy/consulate to issue you documentation to go home.

4. No you will not be held at NAIA for being undocumented in the USA.

thankyou po sa reply, valid pa po passport ko until 2021

good to know po na hindi ako ma charge sa old ticket ko, akala ko po may charge yon kasi hindi nagamit

nakaka relief naman po, sana nga hindi sila ma loko sa NAIA,

Buying a two way ticket is a waste of money because you won’t be allowed back in. Your overstay will come with a ban and even after that ban is lifted you will have a hard time ever visiting the US again. I don’t really understand what you mean by unexpired passport. Do you mean a valid passport or not valid? If your passport is expired, I’m pretty sure you cannot travel with it even if you are returning to your home country. You can just go to the nearest embassy and get a new one. No one is gonna do anything to you, you’re leaving voluntarily.

Grab a united Air flight to Tokyo, then a connecting flight to  Cebu.  Once you are in country, travel back to Manila if that is where you need to go and avoid NAIA.  That is a fast, cheap and shortest time.,  Flight is like once a week on that route
