Hello everyone. So , my husband and I got his I 485 application sent in August 31st, 2017. September 25th, 2017 we received a response from USCIS with a request for initial evidence (RFE) and he went to send in his fingerprints. On November 11th, we sent in the initial evidence needed including essential documents that were needed. As of today, March 5th 2018 we have yet to receive any type of response from them. When he checks online , all it says is "RFE was mailed on the 25th of September". We're curious as to why it is taking so long and why we have not received any kind of response from them. We're also wondering how we can get in contact with a  level 2 officer. Any kind of information or related experiences would be helpful. Thank you!

It sounds worrying that they never even updated the online system saying they received your response to the RFIE. But sometimes the online website does not update.

I am also an August filer  - but for AOS not for CR1. Some of us are just unlucky and facing major delays. I would highly recommend contacting your Congressperson (Senator or Rep - go to their website and there should be some place where they talk about helping constituents) and filling out a case request for the CIS Ombudsman here https://www.dhs.gov/case-assistance

I did both these things and I think they really helped move my case along.  You can also talk to a Tier 2 officer by calling the USCIS customer service line and asking for one, but they've not been very helpful in my experience.

Do you know why is it that so many are facing delays? Is it due to changes with the new administration? And you never got any RFIs? I think that may have really slowed us down as well.
