I'm working on bringing my mother from the Dominican Republic.  We are filling the 864 but i don't make enough money so i will use my husbands income since we file taxes jointly.  So here are my questions? Is he or I the primary sponsor due to him having a higher income? should i still be the primary and add him as a household member and make him sign the 864a? Do we need two i-864 or just one?

You’re the sponsor because she’s related to you. He cannot sponsor the petition. He can only provide the financial sponsorship.

I have a joint sponser who doesn’t live in the same household with  petitioner.so the joint. Sponser fill the from

864 ,864a i134

864a who is the household member?

the joint sponsor doesn't need to be related to the sponsor, nor live in the same house. he or she files another i864 as the joint sponsor

the co sponsor that files the i864A is a household member, they live in the same house and related to the sponsor and petitioner, spouse, parent, child, siblings and they can combine income

now if you are filing for fiancé, the form i134
