Case Returned to USCIS

Our case was returned from the Dakar Embassy to USCIS for possible revocation. We have no idea why the case was returned. Have heard nothing, except call back in 180 days to check the status of the case (April 17 will be 180 days). My spouse said during the interview everything was fine and then the lady saw my invalid passport that I'd included in the package to show more documentation. He said she wanted to know why he had the passport, he explained the document was invalidated by the State Department and a photocopy of the new was included with the name change, but  the interview was ended. No explanation, nothing. Now we are waiting, continuing to struggle to figure out what needs to be provide and where to go next.

The most trying part of this process is he had an accident, and the hospitals in Senegal are not equip to perform surgery on his cervical spine, which remains fractured. Sure we are receiving palative care, and paying out the nose for drugs that leave him in a "zombie-like" state, but when does it end. Here, even in Europe, he could at least receive medical care and regain mobility, but to no avail we are dealing with this. trying to remain optimistic but losing hope with each passing day. SMH

I am so sorry for the return of your petition and your husband's accident. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do and will likely take
9-18 months for you to even get the NOIR letter from USCIS so you can respond with a rebuttal to the CO's findings.
They don't care about his health and hardship and that will not speed it up.
You can try to ask your senator to request action on your case and also the USCIS Ombudsman and make periodical service requests.
Perhaps it would be beneficial for your case and your husband for you to spend a couple months there to help with his care, it would be good evidence
of a bona fide marriage aside from helping your husband.
I wish you both the best and never lose hope, they will eventually get to your case but returned petitions are not their priority.
Count on 18 months and be pleasantly surprised if it will be sooner. You have to have the mindset of being in for the long haul
with a returned petition.
