They don't "delay." They just have to receive and process your stuff. It takes some time. From your timeline, you returned the requested materials on April 17, right? Were they mailed from within the US?

Look up Jake&Ali's timeline. They received and RFE, got their stuff back, and it really wasn't too long (I say that loosely, since any extra time is too much time, I know) until they had their NOA2.

edit: here's their profile: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showuser=33052 and you can see their RFE timeline is very similar to yours. They got their NOA2 a week and a bit ago, but I think you're probably still within the realm of (CSC defined) reason.

Believe me, I empathize with the frustration of knowing that your file has been touched by human hands and that all the pieces are there waiting to be assembled by an adjudicator.

Best of luck - I hope you get your NOA2 soon!

Agnar,

Just out of curiosity and to perhaps help others - you said the RFE was in regards to 'proof of having met.'

What did you send originally as proof?

And what did you send in response to the RFE?

initially we did send only engagement photographs , whihc werent convincing to them i guess , so they sent a letter asking for additional evidence of meeting.

so we sent our airline itinerary, boarding pass, credit card payments made at Sanfransisco (where we met ) and my stay proof at radisson hotel before engagement at fort worth , movie ticket stubs (casino royale ) bought at fort worth, etc.,

ARGH! That must have been so frustrating for you agnar. I'm mad on your behalf.

If USCIS would just put in the I-129F instructions what it tells people in RFEs about primary and secondary evidence, you could've sent that stuff the first time. They suck!

I really hope they get back to you soon.

(Also - you should consider posting about your RFE, what you had sent originally and what you sent later - in the pinned RFE thread in the main K1 forum. It's a good resources for other filers just starting out.)

guess what ?

USICS has clearly mentioned in the RFE letter not to send photographs, video recordings, emails , chat logs .

specifically asked us to send flight itineraries, baording passes, credit card payments made on our names, hotel bookings made on our names and luckily we have preserved them all and send them as our additinoal evidence of meeting

So essentially, they were asking you for primary evidence (which you did not initially include). They already had your secondary evidence (photographs).

An RFE shouldn't slow you down much at all. I remember Huskerkiev's thread where he said that cases with RFE's were usually set to one side of the adjudicators desk and they would know exactly where they were when the evidence was returned to them.

I've read so much about RFE's and primary and secondary evidence, that I'm doubting my evidence that I sent in. I sent photos, personal letters from friends in U.S. and Mexico, and Mexican toll receipts. Me and my fiance live in neighboring border towns. I'm worried now that they will not accept the toll receipts since I also work in Mexico. Any opinions?
