Based on VisaJourney's estimate, nothing will happen in June for my petition, so I'm just lying low and trying to not think about it.

That's how i'm trying to see it too...VSC is taking quite a while compared to some i've seen.

i think the reason i'm slightly annoyed is that i am also going to see my love in August.

i put my passport application for this in the beginning of APRIL. and still don't have it. as passport service is backlogged due to american travel this summer. that would be okay too except that i i'm not coming up on the status-check online at all either.

so now i'm waiting for a passport to see him, and his parents are having an engagement party for us and all so i want to make it over so badly..

AND waiting on the NOA2 at the same time.

booo :)

So much on your plate now, I wish you all the best! I hope you get your passport soon. I saw a story on the backlog for passports on the news the other day, that said they were totally unprepared and swamped. I hope you get yours soon. Will keep my fingers crossed for you.

After reading your post I thought about it some, and decided to lie low and will try not to stress out so much about NOA2s or RFEs as it's not even the May Filers time to be 'up to bat yet'. *sigh* all we can do is wait I suppose, it's all out of our hands now...

Take care and keep us posted!

I think the VSC is still busy processing the H1B receipt backlog. Fiance(e) applications are lower priority then other petitions, so when they are busy catching up with other things, that means less people working on fiance(e) visas.

Yeah, I thought about your post and decided that I am gonna to try and lie low as you are. You're right there isn't a whole lot we can do about it now so might as well not let it get to us until it really IS our turn up to bat.

All the best!

Our time to bat, so to speak, is really an estimate. I believe there are a bunch of April VSC filers ahead of us, so when they go through, we should be coming up afterwards. I don't know if anyone can give a proper estimate, but we are all hoping it is sooner then later.

No idea. I would hope that this would be done to make the system more efficient.

But who knows? With USCIS it could be anything.

What do you think about all current K1 applications being sent to the NSC which will be the sole processing point? Will it be faster or take longer?

Wish I knew, and I wish they had told us why via some kind of bulletin or something that this was happening, or is that still in the works I wonder? Anway I just wish I knew something, I am trying to go with the flow but some days are harder than others and I just 'wish' Alan could be with me now. :(

For what it's worth, I do remember finding and reading the press release last year when they stopped processing at TSC and NSC and began forwarding them to CSC. They announced at that time they were doing it so TSC/NSC could focus more on the I-129 (Employment type) Visas. I tried to find it yesterday, but they revamped their website last September and now it must be off the server floating around in cyberspace. I think the ones who will see the biggest impact on this will be the VSC filers as I really don't think they will be be seeing their 20-30 day approvals. If they (NSC) can at least keep all of the petitions moving and do so in under 100 days like those of us stuck at CSC have been experiencing, I won't have a meltdown.

Is there an official statement that the I-129F petitions are being sent to NSC? I know that people are speculating because of what it says on the USCIS processing times pages but is there like a press release or something?

Zee :)

Just read etripke's post (thanks for the info!!) here. Seems all this moving to NSC stuff was all speculation.

As if we need something else to worry about.

I think the USCIS operates out of a black hole... some people said they called the USCIS and were told we were being moved to the NSC, one person's attorney told them this, and of course now the processing times are listed like they used to be... ridiculous...
