Sayaka was approved at the embassy yesterday. Visa will be to her door in about a week they said. I guess it was a really quick interview at the Japanese embassy.

Congratulations Aaron! (& Sayaka, too!) Daisuke got packet 3 at the end of last week, ordered his police certificate yesterday and will call to schedule his medical exam in the morning. I'm glad the interview was quick and easy for her. Will she be able to get here by Christmas?

She could be here by Christmas if I wasn't going there from the 17th of this month until the 7th of January. She will be coming home with me though. She confidently put in her resignation even before going to the interview so she could spend all of the Holidays with me no matter what happened. (that and she was tired of her job anyways). Now that she is approved we will be packing and mailing stuff back to the US, and having a nice Christmas and New Years together in Osaka.

That's great!! I forgot that you had told me that you'd be there. :) I'm really happy for you. You have to visit a temple for New Years (Hatsumode) and view the first sunrise (Hatsuhinode) There's a great place on top of the mountain between Osaka & Kobe for hatsuhinode. My son and I went for New Years 2004 and although it was really cold and windy, it was beautiful!

Despite our efforts to get him here in time for us to be together at Christmas (uber quick mailing of EVERYTHING), and even putting on our forms that we were getting married Dec. 24 and he had plans to travel here on Dec. 18, my fiance's interview was scheduled for Jan. 8, 2008. So all Christmas plans are now thwarted. :crying: This process has been so long and arduous. I suppose I should just be happy there is finally light at the end of the tunnel. And I suppose I will be.... after Christmas is over.

2007:

February - May: extended visit to States, engagement.

5/4: I-129F sent (Texas Service Center, forwarded to California Service Center)

5/11: Petition received at California Service Center.

5/16: Check cleared. NOA1 online (no hard copy received yet)

6/19: NOA1 hard copy arrived FINALLY

7/16: Sent off for Police Certificate (U.K.)

8/22: TOUCHED due to phone call (RFE Trick, was told case wasn't assigned yet)

9/20:APPROVED!!! After 127 days from NOA1 and 139 days from filing date.

10/23: Spoke to Kelly at NVC who said they should have received our petition by now. She advised I send a copy of our NOA2 directly to the NVC office, which I did immediately. :-)

10/26: NVC RECEIVES CASE!

10/30: NVC SENDS CASE TO LONDON CONSULATE

11/1: Consulate receives case in London AND sends out Packet 3.

11/6: Sent Packet 3 to Consulate (we'd downloaded the forms on VJ and had them completed already)

11/22: Appointment for Medical.

2008:

01/08: Interview scheduled for 10 a.m. APPROVED!!!

02/01/08: Stephen comes to America!!!

I am hoping for an interview in early to mid January. At one time I was hoping to have my fiance here by Christmas but I gave up on that wish. The way I look at it now, is that I will be starting a new year and a new life, with the love of my life. I could not ask for anything better. Good luck!!
