petition moved to VCS after 5months at CSC ..........I just got an email from CRIS saying that they have sent our petition to VSC after being at the CSC since May 15.......I called the USCIC number and put the case number in and got the recorded message that our petition had been sent to VSC and that the transfer date is now the NEW date that we have to wait 6 months for our petition!!!!!!!!!!!! Someone please tell me this is not so.....I need help from anyone out there that can help me.........has this happened to anyone else???????

That cannot be true.....that is not a funny joke at all. Late May filers are being sent to other service centers, or given RFE's, so USCIS can approve June filers now.....

Tanjay, don't even start saying things like that. That's truly low.

I called USCIS today using the RFE prompts and spoke with a nice man who said my case was assigned to an officer on October 17!! WOOHOO!

To those of you who have already been approved, how long does it usually take for an approval after ithe case has been assigned?

I was told that my case had been assigned to an officer on 10/15 and I am still waiting

Patience afterforever patience, give it until the end of the month, I'll help you dance :)

Unfortunately I lost my patience somewhere around day 135. If I must wait another week, I will be hovering around day 155. Long wait.

I hope so cause I haven't danced for a long time :)

OK...I hope they will accept this letter from Social Security Office. My RFE said that I must provide evidence stating that my pior name and current name are the same person. I went to Social Security office to have them write a letter stating that those names are of the same person with same SSAN. I don't have any record showing my picture and prior name; and I hope this will be sufficient evidence. Anybody have any advice?

Your old Thai Passport or ID would even help, will have photograph too.

See that's the problem...I lost my old Thai passport long time ago. I could not find any records or pictures of me with my Thai name. That was back in the mid 70's and I was too young to carry any ID then. I had included more than sufficient evidence in the K-1 package for my current name i.e. US passport, Naturalization certificate, Driver License, Military ID, Military Medal Citations, Military Service Dates.

Again...I don't know why they did not check with one of their Immigration offices...I mean...I did file for US citizenship through them. They should have more information than they need. :bonk:

Are you serious?? Did they give you any reason for doing this. I'm afraid I can't offer you any help, just my commiserations. I've haven't heard of it happening to anyone else.

Where do you live? Could it be that you should have sent it to Vermont in the first place? It's the only thing that I can think of right now that might explain it.

we filed in Texas because I live in Alabama...it was sent by them to CSC because they decided in May that TEXAS would not do I-129 that only CSC and VSC would.....and a lot of applications that went to VSC actually got transfered to CSC.

So we did file correctly...actually our lawyers filed....so has anyone else been transfered to the VSC this week, and get to start over?

May 5-sent I129f to Texas and they forwarded to CSC

May 11-priority date according to NOA1 on Hard Copy

May 14-received by CSC...notice sent (never received)

May 15-money order cashed

July 19-called about Hard copy..said they would resend

July 23-lawyer calls and is told application is lost and to resend application

July 25-sent a duplicate application to Texas and it is forwarded to VSC

July 27-called again...said they would resend from CSC

July 31/aug.3/aug.6 "touches"

Aug. 16 received the NOA1 from VSC for duplicate application

Aug. 16-called about Hard Copy...said that they would resend (3rd time) from CSC

Aug. 17-"touch"

Aug. 19-FINALLY RECEIVED THE NOA1 HARD COPY for original application from CSC

October-19-CRIS sent message that they were moving our application to VSC?!?!?

(seems USCIS sent our first application to the wrong center)

November-16 origianl is at the VSC

Dec. 3-congressmans office calls VSC...will be processed by July application date

Feb. 6-APPROVED!!!!

Feb. 7 sent to NVC

Feb. 13 sent to MONTREAL...WRONG EMBASSY!!!!!!! SUPPOSED TO BE VANCOUVER!!!!!!!

Feb. 14 arrived in MONTREAL

Feb. 20 talked to NVC center....supervisor will try to "catch" the application call back in 10-15 days

Feb. 29...talked to the State Department (Visa)...they had NVC send cable today to Montreal instructing them to send packet to VanCouver

March 4...K visa application received at VanCouver

March 6 packet 3 ARRIVED

March 10 packet 3 checklist and DS230 faxed back

March 12 medical exam

March 20 packet 4 received

April 8....interview date

I'm sorry to hear about this as this seems UNFAIR and rediculous on USCIS' processing duties. If it was infact that VSC is in your jurisdiction then they should have forwarded back to VSC on May 15, instead of giving you an NOA1 notice. Now comes 5 months later they decided that it should have been at VSC?? This is unacceptable and I agree with another poster that you should try to contact someone from your Senator's office to help you with this. This is their mistake, not yours as you've sent it to the correct service center based on the instruction on the form. I hope you can get some help soon. Good Luck!

Got e mail about the NOA2 (Approved so far) on the 17th and got touched again on the 18th. I feel like the papers are actually moving now. Its not just them sitting collecting dust anymore.

CONGRATS TO THOSE RECENTLY APPROVED! To those still waiting OMG I know how yall feel. Then once you realize you were approved its a sigh of relief then back to waiting. Atleast thats how it was for me. However, it does feel great to feel like finally your papers are being looked at. :D

Congratulations
