I got a little paranoid today so I called CSC back to get more info. Luckily I spoke with another cool guy. He told me that when the petitions come out of the mail room where they are stored, they are assigned to a supervisor. The supervisor then assigns the cases to her workers on her team. I had him check his computer again without telling him the date I was given earlier and he told me that it shows my case had been assigned to a supervisor on October 15 (this was the same date I was told from the first guy).

According to this guy, the computer shows the identification number to a workstation where the petition is located, which in my case tells him it with a supervisor. He told me that the supervisors do not keep the files on their desk long but he could not give me a time frame when it would be actually assigned to a worker.

Hopefully it will be very very soon and not weeks. I am close but the wait continues.

Did you call using the RFE trick???

No, I just called and told both guys I was stressing out and hoped they would have mercy on me and give me some information. I called CSC twice today and both guys were totally cool. Both confirmed my file was sent to an officer on October 15, although one said it goes to a supervisor before it is assigned to an officer.

How do yall get to speak with an actual person when you call the USCIS? RFE trick? Because I am thinking I am going to call next week. If it was the RFE trick what is the number pressing pattern again? I was checking but this thread is LONG. Hahaha! Also when you actually get to a person what do you say or make up about an RFE?

Read what I posted above. I didn't say anything about an RFE although that's the line I called on, just that I was concerned. I dialed customer service number: 1-800-375-5283 Prompts 1-2-2-4(RFE prompt)-2-1-enter Rec't # 1(to verify)

Good luck! :thumbs:

Call 1-800-375-5283. Press 1, 2, 2, 4, 2, 1. I did not make anything up about RFE. I just told the guy that I was stressing and needed to know what was going on with my case. Good luck :thumbs:

Also.....if the application gets approved we still have a chance of being declined right? I am not trying to bring anyone down I just want to know.

Yes, that's correct. The embassy is the one who'll issue or decline the visa based on the information presented and the interview.

I didnt get a touch till the day AFTER I called. check my signature below.

If you call early in the morning then you may get a touch on the same day, like I did. Or else it usually gets updated the next day.

But remember, not everyone gets touches.

The touches in and of themselves are not important. And as many others have said, some get approved with no touches (I did).

Okay..my lunch break is over so I'm here to report my findings...

I spoke with a really nice man and told him that I was concerned about my petition because I had not heard anything since I called to have a new NOA1 sent out due to not receiving the first one. I was hoping he could tell me whether or not my petition had gotten lost in the shuffle with them being so overwelmed recently. He put me on hold for a couple of minutes then came back and said "don't worry ma'am, your case was assigned to an officer yesterday on the 16th and although it doesn't show that a decision has been made yet, you should be hearing something soon." I thanked him for his kindness and told him that he just made my day and that I hope he has a great day. He told me to have a nice day as well and I said thanks to him, I would be!

YEA!!! :dance::dance::dance:

At least a feel a little more relieved...we should be hearing something soon!! I so appreciate everyone here..it's nice to be able to share this long long journey with others that know how I feel. :thumbs:
