I'm a little concern regarding my approval. It seems that everyone else here are getting the approval through an email notification first and then followed by a hard copy in the mail. In my case, I didn't get an email notification but got the hard copy. I just called USCIS to check and see if the information is correct. I found out that it still says that the case is still pending. So I connected with a representative and asked the lady if my case was approved or not because I got a letter in the mail that it was. She told me that from the system it has not been approved and that it could take a couple of weeks for it to get updated. I was approved on 09/28 and to this day it did not get updated on their system. She told me to make an appointment to go talk to an Immigration Officer to make sure that there's not a mistake made. I just made an appointment for this Friday morning to see an Immigration Officer about my case. I just want to make sure that it is in fact approved. For the people that got their approval, did it tell you that your case has been approved when you call in to check on the status? Maybe I'm being too paranoid, but when it comes to USCIS who isn't?

USCIS knows nothing!! If you are concerned, try calling using the RFE trick and make sure you speak with someone at CSC. Don't waste your time talking with anyone on the USCIS main number. If you get transfered to the main number, hang up and try again. Only speak with someone at CSC. I was approved on 9/19 and never got an email or an update either. I called CSC twice and everything was fine...they told me they were having problems updating their system. Don't worry at all about this. There are plenty of people who have had this same experience and everything was fine. :)

Thanks for the peace of mind. I feel a little relieved now. I guess I won't need to go see the Immigration Officer then. :)

CONGRATS ON NEW APPROVALS!!! I'M STILL WAITING TO GET A NOTE FROM THEM. THEY WANT MORE EVIDENCE. MORE WAITING!!!!!!

ThaiStyleUSA,

I feel really bad for what you are going through with them. Can you tell us, what all did you include as evidence of your relationship when you sent it in? I mean, did you send 3 photos of you together, 10 emails, 10 chat sessions, phone records, etc. That will give us a better idea of what we sent in will stand up to their test. Thanks and best of luck for a speedy approval once you send them the additional evidence.

I had sent more than minimum requirements. I'd sent 9 photos of us together in Thailand and USA; about 15 copies of emails; we didn't do any chat sessions; copies of phone bills, many copies of my military records...including every medals I had received, copies of my passport, copies my military ID card & my driver license, copy of my US naturalized citizenship certificate, copies of airfare tickets, and hotel receipts, copies of my divorce decree, But I didn't send copy of my birth certificate because on the K-1 guide mentioned that I can send either birth or Naturalized certificate. Anyway, I gave them plenty and extra stuff as well. I don't know what else do they need. If they want more proof of me being a US citizen...why don't they check my military information. I'd just retired recently after 22 yrs in the US Air Force, and served in 2 Iraq wars. You can only do 4 yrs in the military if you are not US citizen. So I don't know...just have to wait and see...
