Ugh, I'm having a "this is never going to end, we'll never get our visa" kind of day. Now that we've had one NOA2 in our happy May group, I find myself checking my status on the USCIS page all day long again. I KNOW it's going to be another month but...I'm sure you all have those days, right?

Sorry. Vent offically over. Just have no patience today. Thanks for being around, I think the support on this site is the only thing holding me together some times!

Michele

I always think of it this way.

Our loved ones could be away at war.

Helps me to put some perspective to the time apart.

At least we know the people we love are safe at least.

Someone will not come to the door tomorrow and tell us something no one wants to hear.

Nobody seems to be 100% sure about this. I asked this question myself when I first set up my account. The consensus seems to be when VJ is asking for dates re: things sent to or from an agency, we should put the date of the letter (for correspondence you received from them) and the date they show they received it (for things you...sent to them). For instance, per the USCIS website, my NOA1 was supposedly sent May 1, 2007, so that's the date I used. I guess that makes sense, to use the date the letter is dated (haha, assuming you actually RECEIVE the letter) because mail times can vary quite a bit. Same is true for things you send to them.

Again, no one seems to have a firm, black and white answer for this, but that's what most of the 'old timers' on the board suggested to me.

Hope it helps

Michele

I assumed that it was the date the NOA1 was generated which makes me a May filer although the petition was received by NSC in April.

Hmm, that's a toughy. I'd really put you in either group. You can be an April filer and be disappointed that everyone else is getting their stuff done ahead of you, or be in the May group and be ahead of the pack! Haha.

That's kind of unusual, just from the other signatures I've seen, that they had such a gap from when they received your package to when they mailed the NOA1. Are you saying "received" as in, the post office verified delivery on whatever date? Or received as in USCIS "officially" recieved your package, checked it in, assigned number?

I just ask because everything happened on the same date for me. I mailed my package mid-April, and it was checked in, assigned my number, and NOA1 sent all on May 1st. I didn't send it certified, so I don't know what date it was received in their mailroom, per se.

The date the NOA1 is generated is the date I was trying to say, thanks! I assume the date it's generated is the date it would be dated, and that's what I was told to go by.

Michele

(PS - I see you're going to Detroit in 38 days. What date is that? Adam is coming to Detroit as well, August 23rd, which I think we figured out would be right around 39-37 days, I just don't remember now. Maybe you'll be on the same plane!)

In my case, my lawyer had it for about 4 weeks before i called and asked her about the case...she never said she had it but strangely enough it came from her office the next day via ground mail....so i think your address must be listed on the application ...my app has the lawyer's address...if you check the receipt, the address where the stuff gets mailed should be on it...at least it is in my case...i wish i had y address...i dont trust this lawyer anymore..i check online myself

Im quite happy I joined this site. Cuz if I relied on the lawyer I would be lost all the time. I think I knew more than she expected so she doesnt like me.

Same here, when i call she seldom speaks to me , i get her secretary...its so aggravating. and it was too much of a coincedence that when i called her she said no no NOA1 yet but a day or two later i get it in the mail coming from her office...obviously it was sitting there while i was here stressing about it..the only reason i knew that it had gone out is because a member on here told me tolook at the back of the processed chec from USCIS an that my case number would be there!!!

Yeah I feel my lawyer would do the same which is why I either tell my fiance to call her or I e mail her quite often. I dont feel she would tell us what is going on. I think she dilly dallys. My fiance thinks I am scaring her off. I just feel like its a case of "I will help you out a lot and be nice till I get paid...then after I get paid you are thrown at the back of the line since I got my money"

and the unfortunate thing is that this is the way most lawyers work!! i dont call her because i dont want to lose my temper and really lose her services...which at this point i question wether i cant go at this on my own without her and with the great help on this website!!!

Yeah I have been thinking the same. I mean in the end is it really worth the money? Cuz in a sense you are doing it alone since they dont help much in that area. I mean dont get me wrong the relationship is worth the money but I mean if you are basically gonna be going at it alone then why spend money on "no help"? I hope all this makes sense. lol

I do too....at the end i know deep down inside that i will know that it was well worth it!!! i just really hate hearing the lawyer talk to me like im a burden on her...but when it came selling herself in the beginning she was the sweetest person in the world...God forbid i worry and have " Questions" that i might need her help with at times...oh and i forgot to mention, when we sent out the i129f in the beginning , she gave me the wrong amount for the check so it was returned and i had to start all over...!!!! unbelieveable!!!!!! :crying:

(PS - I see you're going to Detroit in 38 days. What date is that? Adam is coming to Detroit as well, August 23rd, which I think we figured out would be right around 39-37 days, I just don't remember now. Maybe you'll be on the same plane!)

The post office verified delivery to NSC in April but it took a month before it was received at CSC. I am going out to Detroit on August 24th on NorthWest airlines. They were pretty cheap when you book via Expedia.co.uk and they fly direct.

17th March 2010 - Started the removal of conditions process

22nd March 2010 - Application received by CSC

30th April 2010 - Biometrics appointment
