Interesting observation, but is bump stock restricting, background checks and magazine size about police or security guard protection?

You DO realize that background checks are already required, bump stocks are irrelevant, and magazine size isn’t really an issue either, but all the same, some are trying to ban semi-automatic weapons altogether, right?

Not sure bump stocks are irrelevant in mass shootings, what has Congress done to fix the gaps in the existing background check systems and who needs more than 5 rounds in a magazine?

Bump stocks were never even heard of until the Las Vegas shooting, and they were not used in the shooting, and they are not used for anything except the willy-nilly spraying of lead all over the place.  Even more inaccurate than a full-auto weapon, which is pretty inaccurate as it is.

Who needs more than 5 rounds?  Who needs guns?  Who needs cordless screwdrivers?  Who needs multiple vehicles?  Who needs to fly when one can drive?  Who needs to drive when one can ride a horse?  Who needs...  you get the idea.  No one.  But why not?

Amen to that.    Do we really need the Oscars?  Or celebrities?

I keep handgun, rifle to hunt, fly, have two vehicles and can swear on a stack of Bibles that my Ryobi cordless tools are essential for modern Life. All of those items fit in some level of "need" in my view.

No one has ever described a legit use of a 10 round magazine to me. Just asking for a friend.

Nope, but if you choose to watch or not it is your choice.

And there you have it.  But many would disagree with you.  There is no need.  Just... want.  If 30-rd magazines are not needed, and 10-rd are not needed, why anything more than single shot?

Why not make cars with a 2-gallon gas tank?  Would make them much safer, less likely to blow up.

I just told you I can articulate a need for those items, if you want me to bore you with the justification I will.

Again, What is the need that a 10 round magazine fulfills?  Because if there is no justification we might be able to reduce casualties in mass shootings. If there is fine, what is it?

I have two 10 round magazines for my 17HMR.  I use them all the time and wish they were bigger. Keeps my ammo in a handy place and I often throw the second one in when I am doing critter control.  I have a need for them and your argument just leads us to further and further restrictions until we are left with a single shot bb gun. If it was a five round magazine we were limited to…you would be asking the same question. Who needs a five rounds. Then who needs two rounds…then who needs to own more than one round…..all in the claim that it will help reduce casualities in mass shootings.  Why not make a speed limit of 10 mph? That will reduce deaths. Why not ban TV….that certainly is a cause of mass shootings.

If we could just do some studies that help determine if murder is bad and then find a way to make it illegal we would be set.

No, you can articulate a DESIRE for them.  The Amish do just fine without them.  I have a cordless drill/screwdriver, but often reach for that Phillips screwdriver.

Like I said... not need for 10.  Nor 5.  Nor 3.  1 only?  Three-shot revolvers?  Muskets?  How about... no guns at all?  (Jim, stay out of this!). There is no need for a gun today.   I haven’t shot mine in years.  And I also don’t NEED insurance, yet I keep paying for it year after year.

I think you nailed it!  All we have to do is make school shootings against the law...

who needs a pickup truck?  who needs a huge house?  who needs more than one flat screen tv?  who needs more than 10 mb/s?

anytime i see someone justifying their position with "who needs......." - it reminds me of animal farm.
