WASHINGTON — As Russia’s virtual war against the United States continues unabated with the midterm elections approaching, the State Department has yet to spend any of the $120 million it has been allocated since late 2016 to counter foreign efforts to meddle in elections or sow distrust in democracy.

As a result, not one of the 23 analysts working in the department’s Global Engagement Center — which has been tasked with countering Moscow’s disinformation campaign — speaks Russian, and a department hiring freeze has hindered efforts to recruit the computer experts needed to track the Russian efforts.

The delay is just one symptom of the largely passive response to the Russian interference by President Trump, who has made little if any public effort to rally the nation to confront Moscowand defend democratic institutions. More broadly, the funding lag reflects a deep lack of confidence by Secretary of State Rex W. Tillerson in his department’s ability to execute its historically wide-ranging mission and spend its money wisely.

i hear Mueller has given up on Russian collusion and is now looking at UAE collusion. Weird how he is able to ignore the collusion between Saudi and the Clintons?  Must be one of those crimes that is selectively looked at? Let the witch hunt roll on!

sounds like you need to start listening to folks who actually know what they're talking about.

I would say it you that has been taken for a ride.  Basically…when you believe something….the smart money says the opposite is true.  Naturally you will forget all the times that you were wrong and just continue on. Just the way you are I guess.

seriously does not matter what you believe because you believe in trump - full stop. doesn't matter what conclusions mueller comes up with, you'll never abandon belief in your dear leader. so faithful! good job!

Russia, If you are out there listening, I hope you can find out why Obama did not do anything about your interference in our elections but instead chose to illegally investigate me!
